I think the interesting things here - which are also worrying:
1. the assistant suggests a yellow - so surely ref should take this into account.
2. the thing that changes his mind is "he's holding something else as well as his back" - this kind of talk is just going to cause more players to roll around holding body parts.
Taylor should have said "if it is just studs on back accidentally its a yellow, if you can confirm there were two different areas trodden on I want it to be a red - can you confirm this point"
So he judged this on the player holding body parts and nothing more.
Not sure what he is talking about, there has always been debates and discussions. The problem is people who man the tech have become more incompetent.
Refs do need to hold press conferences and be questioned on games. Audits of refs and games need to be published and made public.
