Villa v West Brom up first.

Anyone else watching?

Anyone got any preference of the four for promotion?

I quite like Villa, in that their always a top division club in my mind anyway, no feelings either way about West Brom, hate Leeds, actually quite like Derby despite Lampard, not sure why.

So Villa Derby final would be my preference I think.

Out of those probably Derby. West Brom are one of those “what is the point” clubs. Too good for the championship but too shit for the prem. I hate villa. Leeds are dirty horrible cunts. That leaves Derby.

From an impartial stand point Id rather see Leeds get it, they are a big club, plenty of rivalries and history, they would add something to the league. Same with Villa to a lesser extent. Feels like Brom and Derby would really just make up the numbers.

Villa and Leeds are Prem clubs. Everyone hates Leeds, but I don't. Maybe I'm a bit young to have seen their fans be cunts. Would be good to see them back in the prem instead of shit like Huddersfield.

Leeds? Fucking Leeds?! There's a reason everyone hates them.

Horrible, nasty, exceptionally racist thuggish fans being the main one.

I kinda like Lampard. Pulling for Derby.
No to John Terry at Villa.
Can't be arsed about West Brom.
Don't have much of an opinion on Leeds.

Really harsh that sending off.

Pundit saying it wa a stupid challenge, but he slid in at the ball & then caught the keeper afterwards by accident, really really harsh imo.

I hate every team that’s not us... but Leeds hates the mancs so that’s reason enough for me to want to see them come up. Failing that, Derby please.

WBA or Leeds who were just 3 points apart in the 'regular season'. Not by preference per se but because although the playoffs are a fun and lucrative ending to the season they are patently unfair too. Villa and Derby finished miles behind those two.

I saw someone come up with a good way around that unfairness, while still having a playoff.

You could have 6th vs 5th, the winner going on to play 4th, then the winner of that playing 3rd.

That way, you still have the playoffs, but you're also rewarded the higher up the table you finish, with a bye into the final if you finish 3rd.

That would be better than what they have now.

Yeah I thought so, and was surprised it'd never occurred to me or anyone else before now.

As anything, though, there's probably too much money in all these playoff games so they'll keep it how it is.

Like this. Would add that playoff matches should all be one leg ties with the higher placed team having home advantage, to avoid the fixture pileup of two consecutive 2 leg ties

Having said that, I did enjoy the first instantiation of the play offs when the third from bottom team in the league above and the three non promoted team from the league below got to battle it out

FC Salford came up to the league too. Hardly surprising given their immense resources thanks to the Utd 92 players backing them, but still worthy of note.

Is it possible that they could eventually be challenging for promotion to the Premier league? Maybe within ten to fifteen years (it's hard to see it quicker than that, though not impossible).

Villa are definitely a 'proper' club, that all things being equal, would add something to the league. They have become the home to brave JT, however, so I want them to crash. I get the Leeds hate, but they fucking despise Man Utd, and I go by the philosophy of my enemy's enemy is my friend. Derby aren't good enough for the top division, but I quite like them, possibly because I associate them with fine wins for Liverpool.
