Pre Match Pre Match - Arsenal (H) - Sun 16:30

I think we've had a much better
Interesting read in terms of how we could set up in the future and that the signing of Isak could see us move to a 4-3-1-2.

Would make a lot of sense.

Alisson
Frimpong/Bradley Konate Virgil Kerkez
Szobo Gravy Macca
Wirtz
Salah/Ekitike Isak

Might see us transition into that starting formation going forward.
Love that formation.

Fuck off Mo. @Buddha you with me homie?

Alisson
Bradley Konate Virgil Kerkez
Szobo Grav Mac
Wirtz Gakpo
Ekitike

I'd stick with Szobo at right back, he was exceptional against Newcastle and Macca should be back. As much as I'd be tempted to put Gomez in, it's at right back where he's more likely to get injured. Bradley historically takes time to get up to speed (Gomez too).

----------------Alisson--------------
Szobo---Konate----VVD----Robbo
---------Gravy-------Macca--------
--Salah-------Wirtz-------Gakpo--
--------------Ekitike---------------
As shite as Konate has been, he usually has a few matches like this and then sorts himself out. Gakpo was poor against Newcastle but generally can't be ruled out as a big game contributor.

Alternative would be:

----------------Alisson--------------
Bradley---Konate----VVD----Kerkez
---------Gravy-------Macca--------
--Salah-------Szobo------Wirtz---
--------------Ekitike---------------

I'm wondering if we should drop Wirtz and revert to last season's MF for this one.

Probably more important to spend all week practicing defending corners though.

Yeah I'd take either of those.

However your spellchecker needs a slap - I think you are the only one who persistently misspells the 5 letter 'Gakpo' !

Either of those lineups works for me and, like you, I'd prefer the first.

Becker
Bradley
Gomez
VVD
Robertson
Gravy
Macca
Dom
Gakpo
Hugo
Salah

Team picks itself after the first two games.
Interesting choice-making. Konate didn't err, however, for that second Newcastle goal. He was passing the ball back to Alisson.* With the high line the VVD's idea was for Alisson to collect the second ball. That was the problem in the game (have you seen Monday Night Football interview with SLot?) I would not displace Konate.

*Konate is VVD's subsidiary. He doesn't make his own decisions. And probably for a good reason. It was VVD's error. He changed the line.
