Pre Match - PSV (H) Wed 20:00 (CL)

I would like to see a midfield that can create. I was thinking about all the wild subs and maybe we just need more midfielders to control the game and give us confidence.

That said, we don't really have options. Hopefully Nallo can get his third red card in a row

Id be going with endo gravy and Szob------- in the middle. Fuck it. More defensive solidity, gravy can progress the ball, endo can boot people and know how's to defend.

Unfortunately the team picks itself

That's another case of a player improving by not playing. I love Endo but he's been proper shit every time he played this season

He's isn't great by any metrics, but at least he's defensively minded, whereas all our others aren't.

We're getting exposed on the reg, so I'd prefer additional support for them

If we had a DM in the youth team who was more aggressive than tippy tappy, then I'd advocate for them.

We just need a proper DM

I don't know what we expect of players like Endo and Gomez. We know that they're a tier below the regular starters, but we don't give them any minutes, save when making up numbers with a bunch of youngsters. In the case of Gomez the message is also "I'd rather have a midfielder play in your position than have you, RB by trade, play when Frimpong and Bradley are injured." Seems like setting them up to fail.

Watch us beat Eindhoven today and then lose to West Ham on Sunday. Unfortunately, I see it coming. But maybe not. We could lose today as well.
Every time I see Dom put in the RB position it does my nut in.

Part of the reason is he’s not match fit. The other is that he’s in his 30s.

He's also not the tallest, so isn't necessarily going to help with all the set piece goals we've been conceding.

True, but he might help cut out opportunities in midfield a bit better.

Considering slot sees him as our 4th or 5th choice CB, I don't think set pieces matter

But this is the problem with Slot. If he is forced to bring players in from the cold, they are proper shit, because they haven't played at all. You can't expect Endo to just perform when he's getting no football whatsoever. Chiesa has had scraps but he's had enough to drum together some kind of form. Endo is literally getting 5 minutes every three weeks, he hasn't even got the luxury of League Cup football because the chump decided to throw it.

How far is Bajectic off playing? Slot will never rate Endo. We won't be signing a midfielder in January. Jones is being Jones, and Mac Allister has somehow forgotten to be a footballer. Bajectic returning to the player when he burst through under Klopp is the only source of change I can see at the moment. About a 5% chance of it happening, though!

Back in training.

That's exactly what's going to happen.

They're catching us at a great time, we're catching them at a not so great time. If you want a little extra for your christmas bonus, wack £100 on West Ham or draw.

Unfortunately I dont think we'll see Badger unless we change the manager.

He'll probably put Badger on the bench, just to ensure there's no room for Endo or Chiesa. Then Badger can be the new Endo or Chiesa, and so on.

However, despite the club enduring an eighth loss in 11 matches, Gakpo confirmed there has been no such formal gathering this time around.

“After the game on Saturday it was a kind of embarrassment because we lost 3-0 at home in front of our own fans, which is not good,” said the Dutchman, who will face former club PSV Eindhoven for the second successive season in the Champions League.

“In the days after that, we were, I don’t want to say angry, but we tried to speak together and be honest with each other what we have to do to perform better on the pitch.

“Everybody is aware we have to take responsibility on and off the pitch. This was a conversation you have with a team-mate.

“It wasn’t really a ‘meeting’ meeting but we are aware we have to take responsibility, that we have to do better with certain things on the pitch. That’s what we spoke about.

“We are honest because otherwise there’s no point in speaking. We also know we have to stick together and that’s what we will try to do again to put in good performances and get wins.

The coach takes responsibility but the players have a big responsibility to ourselves and the manager and the fans.

“We know what we can do but we aren’t letting it be seen.”

PSV coach Peter Bosz could make life even more difficult for Liverpool, and head coach Arne Slot in particular, on Wednesday but he said he was not feeling sorry for his compatriot.

“No. He’s a great trainer, he has so much quality, he will turn it around. I don’t doubt it will happen,” he said.

“I know he is going to be able to deal with this and get out of it.”

Asked whether it was a good time to play Liverpool he added: “I haven’t got a crystal ball. I’d rather play against a team that is not in form than one which is.”
