Pre-season 2015

What I've heard - from various independent sources. This isn't locked in, but this is at an advanced stage of negotiation.

International Champions Cup - similar to the tournament in the USA, but with one group based in Asia & one group based in Australia.

3 games scheduled for the MCG with other games scheduled for Sydney & possibly Brisbane.

4 teams in the Australian group are expected to be Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and the 4th team is one of the Manchester teams - probably United.

MCG to host El Classico, Liverpool v Man Utd (if they come - City if not, I guess) and one other game.

Don't know about the final - but would expect the MCG.

Would reckon, we'd play a friendly in Jakarta (like the Boston game v Roma). Liverpool set to make their base in Melbourne.

Saturday 25th July & Friday 31st July are the dates penciled in for the big games - with another in between.

Yes I have this confirmed over here. I know someone who works in relevant media (the ICC). They said Australia/Asia was a go for 2015

I know that Liverpool have been speaking to supporters the club.

The Barcelona supporters club have also had some contact.

Grumblings have also surfaced from the AFL about not being able to use the MCG on those dates.

The AFL fixture list for 2015 will be interesting when it's released in a few months - October I think.

strange in a way to have such big rivals play each other in preseason but i guess it drives the interest up even more . crazy to think how big pre-season is now and how much money can earn from it .

It is a little bit colder than Liverpool in July - but with less rain.
