Pre-Season deets

This kid looks so much like what my good friends younger brother Sam looked like at his age that it's fucking with my head.

Sam was as nice as can be, but true story, some roided up freak picked up the wirey fuck by the neck in college, and Sam picked up a can of shaving cream and began to brain the cunt in the head with it again and again, ceaselessly. Even though he wasn't the aggressor he fucked the other kid up so badly with a can of shaving cream that he had to stay home for a semester. He did irreparable damage to the stupid cunts face.

Looks like the Wirtz signing was the necessary kick up the arse Szobo needed. He's been our best player in pre season imo.
He will hopefully play much more in CM this season, because we can't rely on Endo. And Jones isn't very consistent.

On tonight's performance, we'll be lucky to get a cheap loan application for Chiesa

Have to say Will Wright looked quite promising after being at the club for 30 mins.

Imagine if that shot had gone in.

It's fucking mad that we brought the kid in and he got minutes tonight.

And he looked decent!

Some players looked a bit leggy in the 2nd half. Not strange after traveling and a hard pre season. It’s a good thing that we have a couple of weeks to work on the details and a good test against Palace.

I was gutted it didn't.

Sliding doors moment for the kids career. Had it of gone in, we'd have told Isak's agent to fuck off and promoted him to first choice. Now a loan move to Stoke beckons.

Still believe that if Phil Neville hadn’t handballed and stopped a certain goal on Lucas’s debut, he would have gone on to have a Gerrardesque career for us.

Just watched the highlights and I must say that was a poor final ball by Chiesa to Will Wright despite having so much time on the ball. Would have been great for the young lad to score on his debut.

Early days I know but Ekitike is already looking like a better player than Diaz. When he is on the ball he looks, he thinks, he plays, he's a true baller. A welcome change from the head down and let's run and run and see what happens. With the potential of Rio, it was good business we did.

Nunez looks like he can still do a job for us. I hear of Mateta being mentioned but is he necessary an upgrade over Nunez and how much will he cost at this stage. If Isak is not possible, I think our best course of action is to keep Nunez for another season.

Just a call out for Kerkez. There was one recovery, when he went down (slipped?) that was just insane, no way Robbo or Tsimi would have won that ball - it would have been an attack at our end instead of at theirs.

He won a couple more with superb tackles too.

You’re clearly desperate for that bottle of sparkling Shiraz!!!! 🤪

Good thing is that transfers are not based on tonight's performance. If Chelsea can £15-20m for players who have done jack for two years, no reason why we can't. I am hoping we get £15-20m and I wouldn't be shocked it it is as high as £25m. Beyond the big 6, the other clubs have been really quiet in PL transfermarket, I expect that to change

Arne not very happy about the set piece goals we conceded. Good to see:

Arne Slot on his team: “We've also lost two quality players with Diogo and Luis Diaz. But we've added with Hugo definitely a player that's going to be a very good player for us. Rio is showing good things every time in pre-season. The other games in pre-season, I think we've conceded a few chances too much. Today we hardly conceded anything at all, so that pleased me as well. “But then to concede, especially in the second game, two set-piece goals, that's not what you want, especially if you play Crystal Palace who are a team that are very strong on set-pieces. That's then another thing to work on – we've worked on that already but to work on that even more in the upcoming week. But players are fit, worked really hard, played some good football, defended really strong and good – apart from the two set-pieces.

Small sample size I know but it really shows how much we miss Virgil when he's not there. Replacing him is the number one priority over the next 2 years because he's going to leave a huge hole when he hangs his boots up or goes to Saudi / the States to top up his pension.

Indeed, and I thought the same yesterday. Ibou isnt a leader and it shows when Virgil isnt playing.
