From the match, as well as the training videos, I get the impression that Takumi is painfully low on confidence.

Keita also seems like the introverted sort.

I think it's mostly a language thing.

I missed most of the second half, but Koumetio is a few years from becoming 4th choice.
He's definitely on the right track considering that he's ahead of Van den Berg. I think Philips is the defacto 4th choice atm but Fabs is obviously ahead of him as an emergency CB.

Philips was poor. I would be very worried if we have him as our 4th choice considering how often each of our 4 CBs had played due to injuries.

I agree. Hence why I want us to sign a 4th CB. Maybe Klopp is holding a try out atm?

yeah, i watched the highlights from the old vs young training exercise...

two things jumped out

1. VVD is just the most ridiculously talented footballer, probably the best finisher on the team. What he does on the training pitch is unfair.
2. They were mean to Takumi on the old team, Virgil & Milner leading the way I believe. Saying the reason they lost was Takumi and trying to trade him to the other side. I hope thats a rare occurence. However, just based on that, I doubt he'll ever really make it here. Its in stark contrast to how Naby was being treated before he bossed the post-covid games. Was disappointed.

Taki will be much improved this season. Looked on the right track against Stuttgart.

His footwork is phenomenal.

Bobby, Torres, Alonso & Suarez are the only players in our shirt who have that instant control & touch that I can think of in modern history. Seriously.

When you watch that compilation it's astonishing just how good that close control is, plus the one touch rapid passing & a burst of pace on top.

If he can show that strength & get in the same wavelength as the midfield & forwards he'll be some player.

That said, I do have some doubts about how strong he can be OK the ball with his frame, I hope they're misplaced doubts.

I'm lost for words
