How long can we keep this superstar. Papers saying he is Madrids number 1 target

He is simply superb. Hate this Spanish raiding shit

If they offer us Suarez money, we'd probably sell.

I doubt they'll do that, and I somehow doubt he's the 'their #1 target' considering their problems (goalie, central defenders, RB, DCM etc)

Yep, it's their usual media bollocks of putting a story out there to keep themselves constantly linked, should genuine interest finally emerge.

Fuck them, "biggest club in the World" my fucking hoop.

Maybe Ronaldo will go and they will be in the market for a replacement.

Either way, Suarez money shouldn't be enough to tempt us to sell. Said in the summer that if he continues as he has been it would need to be a new transfer record.

If Raheem goes there and Ronaldo returns to mancs I will seriously cry

Sell at no cost. It's one thing selling Luis, who was desperate to do one, but if we keep feeding the likes of Madrid and Barca etc, what does it say about us, our status and ambitions?
Oh, that and the fact that he's going to be virtually as irreplaceable as Luis soon.

It looks like made up clickbait by renowned cunt Martin Lipton to me.

Be afraid, Liverpool fans. Real Madrid are after Raheem Sterling and they ALWAYS get their man

From Di Stefano and Puskas to Ronaldo, Bale and Rodriguez, history tells us the Kop club may be powerless to hang onto their teenage star, writes Martin Lipton

Mission impossible? Liverpool face a long losing battle to hang onto Raheem Sterling
They are football’s White Shadow. The club that does not understand the meaning of the word ‘No’. Who do whatever it takes to get their man.
From Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas in the 1950s, through persuading Luis Figo to leave Barcelona at the beginning of Real Madrid’s ‘Galactico’ era, which saw Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos and David Beckham all seduced to move to the Spanish capital.
In recent years, it has been the same story.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez all ending up at the ‘White House’.
Now it seems Europe’s latest talent is on the Madrid agenda.
And history tells us even Liverpool may prove powerless to keep Raheem Sterling at Anfield.
As Real’s interest in bringing Sterling to the Bernabeu emerged on Tuesday night, a familiar pattern was starting to emerge.
First, information is leaked.
Then, current Real players, when asked to comment, suggest the target would be perfect for the Bernabeu.
Drip by drip.

Mentions of Real’s status, their financial power and history. Followed by the end game. The formal bid miles under the player’s true value, behind-the-scenes contact with agents, agitation and finally a signature and presentation.
Of course Madrid’s pursuit of Sterling may not end with flashlights in a Bernabeu suite.
Liverpool’s resolve, stiffened by the wrangle which eventually cost them Luis Suarez, will be huge. Sterling has shown no signs of wanting to leave the Reds.
But Real are remorseless.
In Florentino Perez, they have a president who knows the dark arts. And while the past does not determine the future, it often signposts how events materialise.
Perez showed his hand for the first time in 2000.
When he promised in his election campaign that he would bring Figo with him, it was met with derision. By the time the summer was out, Barcelona fans were planning their ‘pig’s head’ protest for the Portuguese winger.
Perez was forced out after six years in 2006. But when he returned three years later, he had honed his tactics.

For two seasons, Real coveted Ronaldo, despite his pledges of allegiance to Manchester United. But within a fortnight of his second coronation, at which he suggested, “It would be good if he came to Real”, Perez not only broke the world transfer record to land Kaka, he smashed it again for the Portuguese superstar.
Sometimes, they can be held at bay. But not for ever. Ask Daniel Levy.
The Tottenham chairman could argue that he got the maximum for Modric and Bale. But he still sold them both.
Brendan Rodgers, bruised this summer by Suarez, will know how Andre Villas-Boas felt in 2013.
Keeping Real at bay over Sterling will be an even greater challenge.

English players are far less likely to push for above abroad than players from other countries.

I think you are safe enough as can't see him joining any other English team.

Martin Lipton definitely got teased at school.

Probably gets picked on by his pet tortoise.
I can see him now, he's just poured some freshly boiled water into the teapot to make a nice cup of Rosie. Meanwhile, that sadistic bastard Tony the tortoise is sitting behind him ready to pop a whoopie cushion on his seat just before he sits down.

Are they not??

I don't know why but I have a feeling he will want to wait another three or four years before making that move. Of course we could help matters by offering him a better contract.

Yeh, moving at 20 seems a bit mad, he's got time on his side.

Monkey Boy suggested this week that UK players should go play in Spain if they felt they had a chance to play. The recruitment campaign is in full swing.

I don't think Real Madrid will come for him just yet but he shouldn't be too far away from their sights now. Not unlike them to start early and be involved in long foreplay sessions though. Maybe when Ronaldo's body finally starts to protest and he starts missing a lot of games, and if by then, Sterling has turned into a bona fide superstar, they'll come for him.

If Sterling improves his shooting, he'll easily become a world class player.

I had some Lib Dem chap knock on my door a while back. I played all innocent to start with, asking him about this and that, just sort of toying with him before I grilled him properly on them being such a bunch of sellout cunts. I made the poor bastard stand on my doorstep in the rain answering all kinds of questions about party policies and Coalition fuckups for about a half hour.

It was for a local election as well, and I'm giving him a hard time on national issues like a prick. They've never knocked on my door again
