They now have an incredible array of talent at their disposal but can they make it work?
Last season Isco had a great start to the season whilst Gareth Bale was out but as soon he came back to the side Isco found himself on the bench with Ancelotti unsurprisingly going for a front three with Bale included backed by a three man midfield that doesn't really allow for a no.10.
That makes the signing of Rodriguez quite interesting because as good as they all are, Ancelotti has got a real job on his hands to making it all work so as to get the best out of all of them.
Ronaldo could play up top but then they would lose the focal point that Benzema gave them and Ronaldo would lose some of the freedom he so enjoys. Rodriguez could play out wide but then would that get the best out of him? He could also perhaps drop into midfield but that could leave them pretty exposed defensively particularly given that they're likely to have to find space for Kroos. And what happens to Modric who has been great?
Or is it likely to simply be like a Garth Crooks team of the week with 4 strikers and a midfield comprised solely of attackers who scored at the weekend? It'd be fun to watch.
