I hearing all this talk about signing players like Mbappé and Son, when there is more chance of sign Ronaldo or Messi.

Don't reallly know if the whole Mbappé thing is a joke that I missed, but if not, then people I have news for you... We are not getting him.especially with owners like FSG.

If I came from somewhere Bensonhurst I would be saying "forget about it"

So... Who would we have a realistic chance of signing who would improve us

I would opt for Leandro Trossard.

His injury record is not great https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-trossard/verletzungen/spieler/144028

but he spends a far less time injuried than either Shaqiri or AOC, and certainly offers more, and more consistantly than the both player and Origi

Neither of them are available. But you know who is, that's right, Big D. It'd be an absolute travesty if we aren't in for him.

In:
Neto - 50M
Bissouma - 35M
Kabak - 18M
Calelta-Car - 20M
Florian Neuhaus - 25M

Out:
Chamberlain 15M
Keita 15M
Wijnaldum (Free)
Origi - 15M
Matip - 10M

Obviously it won't all happen, but I think that's a realistic set of possibilities.

I fear the financial constraints of COVID will see us sleep walk into an even more ageing and injury prone squad. This is a huge summer. One which we need to start laying the foundations of the rebuild if we're to have any hope of rivalling City over the next 5 years. That rebuild starts with making us more resilient, whilst slowly incorporating younger players into the squad. This is where phase two of the Klopp should begin. Whether it will or not is very dubious.

Heskey's recommendation: Neto and Traore

[article]“Traore and Neto give you different options and both are exciting players. Very, very direct which suits the way that Liverpool play.

“They’ve never really had that (the depth) before. Usually, the front-three have killed off a game, and you bring the others (Shaqiri and Origi) on to see the game out.

“Now, we are relying on those two to get ourselves back into a game or to finish off a game and it’s not quite there. The depth isn’t quite at the level of Man City.”

Traore has been linked with a Wolves exit and is by no means been a regular.[/article]

Traore has not looked like the player of the last two seasons - and to be honest - I don't know who we should sign but I know I want Shaq, Origi, and currently at this rate - both Ox, and Keita for their respective injury records.

I do know one thing:

1) We need to sign a strong midfielder with physical presence as Gini is leaving.

2) We need to sign a strong tall physical striker - or one that is both physical and tricky and can break doors against these low block cunts. I am thinking along the lines of that guy Costa that use to play for Chelsea (not him but someone like him).

3) Obviously a defender ready to replace Matip.

Sell 1st,
Karius
Adrian
Kieta,
Matip
Ox
Wilson
Grujic
Orgi
Taiwo Micheal Awoniyi
Shaq
Minamino (if Southampton offer a decent fee)

Get in
2CBs
1RB
1CM
1AM
1FW

I would love us to get Isco (on loan), and see if Klopp can revive his career. Haaland is within our scope. I really love the look of Dominik Szoboszlai, and would be very happy if was to play for the club

That's three things.

We aren’t signing anyone unless we offload a big name or trade for Anfield naming rights by the way FSG are currently positioned.

You're probably right, they may be forced to cash in and take the club public

At the moment we do a rinse and repeat, get the ball the Man and Salah, expect them to do miracles or get Robertson and Trent to whip sometimes aimless balls into the middle.

All this talk of Mbappe and Haalan is nice but underrated we need a midfield dribbler, we have limited creative danger from the midfield. Thiago for me isn't that guy and certainly not at this time when we don't have a rock-solid defence. We haven't replaced Coutinho OR Lallna properly and its the one thing that Klopp should have concentrated on even more so than buying Jota for 40m. Don't get me wrong Jota is awesome and looks like a steal, but it wasn't as much as a priority to me as getting a midfield dribbler.

Having a top-class central midfield dribbling threat ala KDB means we are able to have three attack points, teams at the moment are able to nullify the front three and also the full-backs but I doubt that if we had a central midfield dribbler that they could handle all three threats.

Mane & Salah will be off in the summer - so we’ll have some cash for our rebuilding.

Why are we looking at replacing our key players before we look at the deadwood? Haaland is no-go, if reports are true that he wants something close to 400k a week for his next move. The club should have got him for £17m when they had the chance.
Patson Daka is more realistic

We can't compete financially with Man City or Real Madrid; Haaland and Mbappe will end up at one of those clubs.

We need to scout the new Mbappe and Haaland and beat the RB Leipzig's of this world to their signature.

It's not difficult to spot talent; I watched lower league football for many years and regularly suggested buying the likes of Ings (from Bournemouth before he went to Burnley for £1m), Callum Wilson (from Coventry for £2m before he went to Bournemouth), Joe Hart (from Shrewsbury for £500,000 before City signed him a year later for that amount) etc, etc.

There is no downside to signings like this as those amounts of money are negligible to a team like Liverpool and if things don't work out you loan them to a Championship club for a year and then sell them for 500%+ profit.

I also sometimes recommended some players who were already on the radar of some bigger teams but I thought their success was so nailed-on that we should make a move before the others. With Wilf Zaha, I said he was the best talent I'd seen at Championship level in many years and suggested a £5m bid about 18 months before United bought him for £15m.

Now of course, living in Czech, I no longer have time or as much access to watch lower league English football.............but, due to the lockdown, I have been watching an awful lot of Czech football and guess what..............Czech football is on the verge of a new golden generation. The last golden generation was about 20 years ago when the likes of Nedved, Cech, Poborsky, Smicer, Rosicky etc could have won the Euros in 1996 and should have won in 2004 (if only Nedved hadn't gone off injured in the semi finals against Greece).

The current Czech team is built around the 2 central midfielders; Soucek (West Ham) and Alex Kral (Spartak Moscow).........Soucek gets most of the attention but IMO Kral (who is 22) is every bit as important. I'm not sure Kral should be a target for us as he would cost at least €30m and that's too much for us to spend considering we already have good DM'ers.

Czech have other talented players like Coufal, Darida, Masopust etc .................they could cause a shock in this summers Euros...........they beat England last year (deservedly) and the only 2 bad results in recent times were a defeat at home to Scotland (when 24 Czech players i.e the whole Czech squad were quarantined and 20 uncapped players brought in..........even then Czech were the better team.

Now, here's the reason I think Czech are about to turn from a decent European team into a top European team....................

Adam Hlozek & Adam Karabec...............when watching these videos remember that Hlozek won't be 19 until July and Karabec won't be 18 until July! Two extraordinary talents.

West Ham tried to sign Hlozek in January but I think because he's currently out with a foot injury they've hesitated. Rumour has it they are coming back for him in the summer.........but apparently Leipzig and Arsenal are now both in the hunt. No doubt West Ham were alerted to Hlozek by Soucek and Coufal but I'm wondering if we can get our Czech keeper (on loan in Ireland) to do some introductions as he knows Hlozek very well as they both came from Sparta and are the same age. I reckon £15m plus a % sell on clause and the promise of a pre-season friendly might swing it. For me Hlozek could be the new Van Basten, he's quick, skillful and good in the air (Hlozek and Karabec are both already 6ft and still growing.)

Many experts think Karabec will be the better of the two (I am not so sure) and whereas Hlozek is definitely a centre forward, Karabec is more of a Stevie G type....midfielder who bombs forward at every opportunity and fantastic long range passing. Maybe we can offer £35m for the pair?

Karabec played again my team, Zlin, yesterday and scored a cracking goal (Sparta's first in a routine 0-3 win). He already looks too good for this level!

And now onto the bargain basement.............my team Zlin have a 20 year old DM'er Cheick Oumar-Conde who only broke into the team at the start of this season. In a poor team he stands head-and-shoulders above the rest, very solid tackler, reads the game very well and gets better in possession with every game. The 2 big Prague teams are watching him and he'll probably leave for under £1m in the summer...........and it wouldn't surprise me if he became a hot property in 2 years time.

We could buy him from Zlin, lend him to someone like RB Salzburg and watch him progress.......if he succeeds it's great, if he's a moderate success we sell him for £5m and if he fails we've lost peanuts.

I'm not sure what affect Brexit has on us signing kids like these but if there are problems getting Hlozek and Karabec registed we could loan them back to Sparta and wait until they are big stars for Czech on the international stage.

Can you forward that list to Edwards?
I often wish I had some contact at the club as it would have saved us fortunes over the years............I seem to remember also recommending Van Dijk about six months before Southampton stole him for £12m.

Like you i have recommended players, but no one listens to me.
I said Mbappe before his move to PSG
Zidane before his move to real
Muller before he hit 30
