Well, I'm hoping Oncy is just taken a break. Yeh, he is a top top poster but I think all he wants from the site is a place where people can act daft which would be sound if people could do it with humour and not let it descend into a chimps tea party with shit and abuse getting flung everywhere and the whole thing becomes chaotic. Some people think the way Brendan behaved was acceptable. I've no issues with banter, in fact I love it but it becomes chaotic when it enters every single thread and there's also the NSFW element which can creep into threads which can make peoples professional lives difficult. As for Skully, all he was very politely asked was to stop the same shite in every single thread as topic after topic was been pulled off track and became unreadable. Again, I think Skully is sound and what he does is fine in the right places but do we really have to have it everywhere.?There are some people who just want to come on the site and get involved in a thread but, once it's descended into repetitive farce it becomes near impossible to do that without reading through page after page of random madness. Not everyone wants that but it is difficult to strike the perfect balance between content and banter. There's no panacea and thats why we put together the forum principles which ALL mods agreed needed to be introduce as this place became an embarrassing farce at times. You dont believe we need mods Ryan but I know this place would become a zoo if people were given free reign. Back to Skully, he knows I think he's a sound lad but he's the one who's flounced off in a childish strop - it wasnt forced upon him. We dont get everything right, no, but you have to realise you seldom do as well Ryan although you probably think otherwise. If people think we should re-introduce free reign and madness on the site sound, we'll re-introduce Brendan and I'll leave you all to it. If that's truly what people think it's whats best for the site then I've no issues moving on. All we've ever tried to do is what we think is best for everyone whilst retaining the sites character.

I agree with Sunny, there us little wrong with the way the site is moderated, it's all to do with some people inflicting their particular sense of humour on everyone else ad nausiem , this includes saying the opposite if what they are thinking partly to be controvercial and partly to play games with the people they actually disagree with. It then ends up confusing everything and everyone, not least of all themselves. Then we have this faux sparking off each other in ever increasing bizarre insults, as people have said its OK to start with but then becomes banal and tedious and cliquey and not very clever.
I love Andy and always will, he clearly had a bit of a wake up call that his obvious great humour and witt was out of kilter with some things, hopefully he will be back soon. Similarly Skully and his acerbic trade mark style got out of hand, as Sunny says he us actually a really nice and bright lad, sorry if that damages your internet persona Adam, I am sure he will be back too.

I've nothing against a chimp house forum in principle but I think if such a sub forum becomes abusive then the bad feeling will spill over into the main forums. So yes, banter, off topic yes but abusive behavior would still cause issues IMO
