Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has given his backing to international compatriot David De Gea following his transfer to rivals Manchester United.

Reina believes that playing in the Premier League with Manchester United will give the youngster a platform to show England how good he is.

“I very much welcome this news because David is a great keeper,” the Liverpool favourite told La Gaceta.

“When it becomes official he is going to start working to prove in the Premier League what a good goalkeeper who is.”

The 28-year-old added: “I know Atletico are looking for a goalkeeper, but I won’t be changing colors.

“I have five-year contract with the Reds and I’m happy at Liverpool.”

*sigh* why do all our best players continually drop hints they want a transfer

Funny how you lads think that considering he's been here six years, he's still here and has clearly stated he wants to stay here and he's happy here

pretty much. I tend to either get a new home shirt when they're new designs, away kits, or 3rd kits. I've got at least 1 for the last...erm...5 years? last season i got 2. Goalie and third kit. Year before the home and the black and grey one. Year before the Black away. Year before the home with the collar....think i've got more

this season its 3rd kit and away kit. Already got the away

8 liverpool ones (but some may be inthe wash and ive forgotten) but around 20 football tops in total

Glad I kept Pepe as my Avator.

Roll on next season. He'd want to save a pen or two soon the slacker.

You have a problem.

Any dodgy non LFC ones?

i have a dodgy brazil and ajax one, as well as our home shirt with suarez on.

The rest are legit. I've got:
dutch away (light blue)
Spartak moscow
Argentina away
england home
AIK
Barcelona
2xReal madrid
st etienne
Ac milan
hertha berlin

i've had my eye on a porto, austria vienna, and inter tops for a while too. Also wouldn't mind a cheeky boca juniors top, but its finding them in shops that the bugger. I found it once but didn't have the money

sad sad times

Is this de gea lad really that good to be scums first team goalie, piss mi self if he's a flop

i'm tempted to get shirts from all our european big nights.

I buy every Liverpool home shirt (then very rarely wear it).

I also have an Athletic Bilbao shirt (and very rarely wear it).

I really should learn from this...

TBF i live in footy shirts. They are just too comfy.

got my barca one on now

My father-in-law got me some dodgy LFC shirts from Cambodia; dodgy, but beautiful.

GUess I'd better take care of them since I'm unlikely to get any more.
