Liverpool FC want to sign Werder Bremen's Marko Marin and offer about €10m, according to "Bild". Marin reportedly confirmed the interest.
Yep, like him. I really want to sign a German in the next transfer window. I don't think we can get Muller and Ozil is already dead in the water at Spain, so yeah, Marin would be good.

A diminutive player (ala Iker Munian) but fuck it, i'm sure he can handle himself. Silva is having no problems adjusting. A quick brain fused with quick feet will suffice in Kenny's new system.

He got a few sub appearances in the world cup too.

PLENTY OF COMINGS AND GOINGS AT LIVERPOOL

And there's another couple of lists in The Daily Telegraph as they consider Kenny Dalglish's plans for the summer.

The paper declares that 'Dalglish's first task this summer will be to find new homes for Anfield's mongrel reserves' and then lists the following players as would-be outcasts:

'Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Alberto Aquilani, Nabil El Zhar, Paul Konchesky, Fabio Aurelio, David Ngog, Christian Poulsen, Philipp Degen and possibly even Daniel Agger'.

This is proving quite a straightforward transfer gossip to compile because the paper has also, rather helpfully, compiled a list of targets:

'Eight signings are being targeted, with Bolton's Gary Cahill, Lyon's Dejan Lovren and Newcastle's Jose Enrique the most likely defensive reinforcements, two wingers - Ashley Young, Andre Ayew of Marseille and Sylvain Marveaux of Rennes - a central midfielder, possibly Feyenoord's Georginio Wijnaldum, and a striker are expected to arrive.'

"Outcasts- Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Alberto Aquilani, Nabil El Zhar, Paul Konchesky, Fabio Aurelio, David Ngog, Christian Poulsen, Philipp Degen and possibly even Daniel Agger'.

Woo! Won´t happen though...

According to Wiki he has played five time for Stuttgart. He went there on loan on 8th August. So its business as usual it would appear.

First I've heard Georginio Wijnaldum's name.
We were linked with him when Rafa was still here.

It's funny to see Marveaux's name being mentioned - everyone had completely forgotten about him.

Yeah lad. He ripped spurs apart. He's ace. Yes please.

Not sure abaa Benzema...

to be honest if we are linked to a top 1st team striker I would be worried.

We have Carroll, Suarez and Dirk plus youngsters coming up. I think a big name who thinks he should be in the first team will not be what the squad needs for continuity ETC.

Cat amongst the pigeons possibly.

LFC = Carroll, Suarez, Kuyt
UTD = Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandes
Che = Torres, Anelka, Drogba
Ars = RVP, Bendtner, Chamakh
City = Balotelli, Tevez (wil go), Dezko
Tot = Crouch, Defoe, Pavlechenko

Why do we need another one????

PS - some of the above will leave of course at the end of the season I appreciate

Europe’s next big thing? Marko Marin has a lot to do in order to live up to his potential
Once a promising young star, the German starlet has stagnated and is now in danger of remaining an eternal prospect

Marko Marin was the “German Messi†once upon a time. Less than a year ago, he represented Germany at the World Cup. A few months ago, he was on the radar of many top European clubs. But now, he’s not even assured a starting role at Werder Bremen. For young talents, the career trajectory is meant to be a steady progression upward. Marin has taken a different path, one that is spiralling towards the mediocrity of deferred talent.

By the numbers, Marin’s performance this year has not been far below his usual standard. However, after three good (but sub-world class) years he has gone from stagnation to decline, and this downward turn has come at the worst possible time for Werder. After Diego left the Weserstadion in 2009, Mesut Ozil stepped into the Brazilian’s boots and was the team’s star. Following Ozil’s departure last summer, Marin (along with the now woefully under-performing Aaron Hunt) was expected to pick up the slack and score and create more goals. Instead of furthering his progress, however, he has had his worst season since making the leap to the professional level in 2007.

It must be considered that Bremen have lacked consistent, reliable strikers to put away chances. However, those opportunities have nonetheless been in scarce supply. Recently, Werder sporting director Klaus Allofs complained of a lack of creativity in his Bremen midfield, and announced that Nurnberg playmaker Mehmet Ekici will be his top transfer target in the summer.

While the Turkey international is seen as a replacement for Hunt, Allofs’ words are still damning of Marin. He is quite comfortably the most talented Bremen midfielder and accordingly should take the greatest responsibility for what will end as Bremen’s worst scoring record in 12 years. Spats with team-mates, lack of team-work and defensive effort and overall poor performances saw Marin spend long spells on the bench. A player of his calibre must at least be starting, if not also prolifically creating goals.

Over the last 12 months, Marin’s competitors - Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle, Marco Reus, Kevin Grosskreutz and Thomas Muller included - have steadily progressed, leaving the Bremen man with a near-impossible mission as he looks to win back Joachim Low’s favour and earn a spot in Germany’s Euro 2012 squad.

Marin’s fall from grace will serve as a warning, particularly to other young German players. It is hard to imagine that a talent who has stagnated for a year could suffer such a drop in his stock, but such is the harsh reality of the increasingly competitive German football system. At 22 years of age, there is still plenty of time left for Marin to improve and achieve his potential. However, with his lost year he has created an Everest to climb ahead of the next campaign.

I think we need one Fox, we need a goalscorer with pace, someone who can step in if one of the others isn't available (particularly Suarez).

LIVERPOOL are heading the chase for Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey.

Chris Humphrey has caught the eye of a host of sides south of the border after a string of dazzling displays for the Scottish Cup finalists.

Now Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is considering a shock summer move for the lightning fast wideman.

Dalglish is scouring the market for wingers to supply his £35m striker Andy Carroll.

Anfield chief Dalglish has been linked with big-money moves for Aston Villa pair Ashley Young and Stewart Downing but is weighing up Humphrey as a cheaper option.

Liverpool are expected to run the rule over him again at the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic at Hampden a week tomorrow – but they won’t be the only ones.

Bitter rivals Everton, who were keen on Humphrey when he left Shrewsbury in 2009, will again check out the £1m-rated starlet whose contract runs out next summer.

Bolton, Birmingham, Newcastle, Swansea and Rangers are also interested and due to assess Humphrey, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica.

problem is mate what top player is going to sit and wait for Suarez or Carroll to be injured or out of form.

I think we have our top 3 and we won't buy another striker

We will and we are. We want options lad. You're thinking like were still owned by a pair of yank cunts...with no wedge.

We won't fetch a "top" striker in as fourth choice though. We may not fetch anybody in if N'Gog doesn't ngo.

Eggnob best fuck off.

Is Kuyt gonna be a winger a forward or both? If he's stayin on the wing then were gonna get someone in...i hope.

My guess would be a forward mainly, standing in as a winger in case of need. He's done so well up front lately, it seems the obv.thing to do.

If he IS going to play predominantly as a wide man then yes, we certainly do need another quality signing up front.
