It seems in the 'Defence' thread that Sakho divides opinions, so figured I'd do a poll & thread on him.
Good no nonsense defender when needed. Doesn't have to footballing intelligence to be a true great. It seems in the 'Defence' thread that Sakho divides opinions, so figured I'd do a poll & thread on him.
Yes our setup leans heavily towards attacking rather than defending which makes not getting Keita all the more disappointing. I think Klopp would like a defensive midfielder but can't find a place in the formation for one and Keita is mobile enough and fast enough to offer much more help to the team defensively without the loss of technical and passing ability that a lot of defensive midfielders bring. Like the Schalke coach suggested at the weekend having Keita is like having an extra player and he fulfill both roles at the same time. Our team would benefit from that immensely.I think I'd prefer him to Lovren at the moment.. I even prefer Gomez to Lovren at the moment to be honest.
My main issue with Sakho is that I believe he's stronger when playing for a defensive-minded team whereas his weaknesses are exposed more when utlizied in a more attacking setup. Maybe our current style is somewhere in between the two and he'd be alright, I am just not sure he'd be solid enough over the course of a season.
His cards are marked, but i'd play him ahead of Lovren every day of the week.
The old 'a players ability gets better and better the longer he doesn't play' trick made famous on 6cm for years and years.
He's shite, Klopp won't play him anyway so get him off the wage bill
Allardyce had him for ~4 monthsIf he's acting professionally then Klopp should he told to keep him and play him if VVD isn't signed.
Allardyce never had one problem with him and was singing his praises this week, suggesting he may have turned a corner in his attitude.
That seems more than enough to have a valid opinion on how he is to manage.Allardyce had him for ~4 months
He indeed can be very influential still, he can cost us many games, which used to be his main influence when he played. He can still be a very influential member of the squad over the next 9 months.
YayWBA bidding 30m for Sakho to replace Evans according to a few sources.
