Selliott

I've been getting into the dehydrated function lately - when I've got tomatoes that are probably gonna end up going to waste, I chuck 'em in and make my own semi-dried tomatoes, and if I've got lemons & limes left after a cocktail night then you can whack those in there and boom you've got garnishes for next time round

I've had a core group of 5 close mates for 25+ years.

Over the past 5 years, they've dispersed out of opportunity or necessity. None were actively looking to leave the city / country, but one has ended up in Beijing, one in New York, one in Brighton, and two in Cape Town.

I also haven't had an office job since 2019, so no colleagues or new acquaintances in my life at the moment.

The missus and I always thought we'd try a different country at some point too, but having four cats and four dogs always put paid to that notion.

Over the last couple of years, animals have been dropping off due to old age. Our jack russel passed this past Monday and we're down to 1 dog and 3 cats now.

If we can stop ourselves from adopting any more animals for a couple of years, we will probably make a move somewhere for the experience.

My wife had a great offer in Dublin late last year, and there's a lot of opportunity there at the moment, so that could be on the cards.
Lucky escape. I'd hate to live in Dublin. Try the left hand side of the country - infinitely better

Two reasons why Harvey should prefer RB Leipzig:

1. Leverkusen's not too bad but Leipzig's a far nicer place to live, IMHO of course;

2. At Leverkusen Harvey would be managed by Erik Ten Hag, who'll be trying to escape from under the shadow of Alonso's recent Invincible season.

Never visited anywhere in the old East since the wall came down so that’s interesting.

Leverkuesen isn’t particularly inspiring it has to be said

Their cookware is pretty fantastic too. I have a load of their non-stick pans, and they're the best ones I've ever owned. About 2 years in and not a hint of flaking - apparently you can even use metal implements on them, although even the thought makes me cringe.

I'm not sure what it is, but their non-stick coating isn't like the usual kind, it's kind of rougher, and much much more robust

I’ll give them a look

Interestingly enough Leipzig was where the movement/rebellion/call it what you want actually started. Big city but still a lovely one with a particularly rich musical heritage (Bach came to prominence there and to this day it houses a very fine orchestra) though I don't know to what extent that will interest Harvey. 😉

True enough about Leverkusen. I didn't want to damn it excessively but it's not exactly top of the list as a lifestyle choice.

Leverkusen must be a proper shithole because Leipzig is one of the worst cities I've ever visited. It was only for 2 days and about 10 years ago when it was apparently "up and coming" but everyone's still saying the same about it anyway so I doubt it's improved greatly

Never been to either but going off Google Leverkusen does indeed look like a complete dump. Leipzig looks idyllic in comparison.

This is quite impressive considering that England are missing Jobe Bellingham, Wharton, Delap and Mainoo.
