I like Skrtel (as I've said), he was superb in defence today (as I've said), his 'distribution' was as shit today (as I've said) as it usually is (and why I believe Rodgers doesn't fancy him) .. so again WTF are you on about !
No, it simply is not. There is a history to this which has been too long and consistent to be waved away like that.

Skrtel played well today, and was up against one of the best strikers in the world. Saying that, the supply to him was shit due the graft that a lot of our other players were putting in. So Skrtel just had to play a sensible slow solid game, he didn't bail us out of the shit by any means.
Skrtel's free kick for that lineout towards the end was great

Yeah, hoofs aplenty there, I think it's criminal the way on about 3 or 4 occasions he gets his boot in there to snuff out the danger and just gets rid, that far outweighs the other 20 odd times he passes the ball out from the back to a team mate, it's also terrible the fact that he tries a couple of longrange Hollywood passes too, we don't want to see our defenders doing that. Heaven forbid.
Slightly surprised he's still with us. Hopefully it'll be a case of best man (in the fight for central defence spot) wins rather than bias-ness or agenda.

My guess is that Skrtel already knew he was staying put prior to the United game, could explain the rejuvenated look and feel about him compared to the second half of last Season where he at times looked like would've preferred to be somewhere else.
Confidence and stability is an important factor for some players more than others, and despite what some posters might think a player with a performance like Skrtel's against United is always a welcome addition to our team imo.
I hope he'll have a great Season with the rest of them.
