Gerrard is a hard no and we'd rightly get laughed at.

I like Alonso but at the same time I don't want someone who has a very rigid view of how he wants to play and is inflexible.
 
Is Alonso inflexible? He had one style at Leverkusen and has a different one he’s trying in Madrid. It’s just the Madrid cunts are pre Madonna’s and don’t like being told they have to train and try hard.

Gerrard should be a big N O. He's an awful manager and we'll finish outside the top 5 for sure.
Doubt Alonso is on the move either, but if he was he'd be on the list of options.

Sadly, as said yesterday, there aren't many interesting managers about and its a WC year.
 
If it was Gerrard as interim, I could be persuaded..

Only because it'd stop all those noises in the future. He'd have scratched that itch and we'd have seen how good/bad he is.

If it was Gerrard as assistant or coach. No. I don't think he'd be interested in that either. He sees himself as a manager/head coach.
 
Only interim manager that makes sense is Klopp. I really like the Milner shout. He's being set up to work as a coach in Brighton but would probably love the chance to be involved at Liverpool.
A new manager with Milner as his assistant would be a great combo I reckon.
 
If Madrid lose to Man City - Alonso is getting the boot.

I'm surprised really, but seems like you can only have so many c*nts in one dressing room.

We shouldn't be touching any of there current players Rodrygo included

The fact Slot is still in a job, tells me he's said no.
 
Quite insane that Alonso's job is under threat already. 3 losses all season and 2,25 points per game so far.
2nd in the league and 5th in the CL table. Should never have taken that job.

If he gets the boot we should be on the phone asap.
 
After Celtics disastrous display post O’Neill it just highlights how motivational he is.

He’s the perfect interim if we can’t get our preferred replacement immediately, should the club decide Slot has had enough time.

My nervousness with Alonso is that even during this dogshit, wretched run of form, Arne Slot managed to outclass him.
 
If Alonso became available then I'd definitely be on the phone. I'd have some nerves about it, but ultimately he's coached Wirtz and Frimpong before, knows the club (to a point), will have plenty of good faith with fans, and is still probably the best young coach around. The club have to be monitoring his situation at Madrid. I was always amazed he went there so early in coaching journey knowing what a shit show things can be. That said, right now, off the pitch we're no better than they are, and on it noticeably worse.

Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid fate has not yet been decided but Wednesday's Champions League game against Manchester City at the Bernabeu could prove crucial.

Fans are losing patience and Madrid were booed off after Sunday's 2-0 La Liga defeat by Celta Vigo, prompting an emergency meeting for the club's hierarchy to discuss Alonso's future.

Real remain four points behind leaders Barcelona having won just one of their last five La Liga matches and, after a dramatic slump since beating Barcelona in October, it seems now his chances of survival are very slim.

Alonso arrived at Real in the summer offering a modern approach but the club has to accept that this step is necessary. And it still resists.
 
Emery or Glasner for me, not interested in anyone else on that list. Can't see Emery leaving Villa unfortunately, Glasner more likely. Both have have been remarkable.
 
Don't like Emery. I'd take Alonso in a heartbeat but who would Real get in? Zizou again?

Mascherano would be worth a crazy punt over Gerrard.

Milner doing the fitness would be good but I reckon he'll want to play next season too.
