Sturridge

We'll end up not signing him, the owners conveniently hiding behind excuses of not being held to ransom blah blah blah. Or we'll start doing an Everton, putting bids in for players after they've already signed for someone else.

"Hey, we offered ten quid for Falcao but unfortunately the fax arrived after Chelsea had already offered £40 million. But rest assured, we are in for the best players in the world."

Damn you Squonk.
Now I want us to sign Sturridge.

Oh yeah, can't wait to see him banging in the goals and this celebration

Sturridge went backwards signing for Chelsea, we need a goal scorer, not another fucking Borini. Demba Ba is available for £7m, even Walcott can score more than this pile of wank.

Even Walcott? Walcott is fucking brilliant.

Indeed, Roops. He will need to cut this crap out if he comes here.

Heh.... it'll be refreshing to have someone who actually celebrates a goal.

Actually, it'll be refreshing to have someone who scores the goal in the first place.

Walcott seems taylor made for Rodgers way of football. Him and Sterling would be a handful for every defense.

Yes please.

hmmmmm, I like Walcott but respect records are:

Walcott - 183 career appearances, 35 goals

Sturridge - 96 career appearances, 26 goals.

I'd take both of them tbh, I think people are being way to harsh on Sturridge. There is some risk involved - he's young and his all round game needs work, but he's also shown he can score goals. For all our great approach play, we have no one who will linger in and around the box and show ruthlessness when in there by having a crack at goal and being greedy. I don't care how much else he doesn't have in his locker, he's got enough around him to subsidise that, as long as he gets the goals, I don't really give a shit. We've got alot of elegant players who are nice enough and can pass the ball but offer no real consistent end product.

Sturridge's goals comes mainly from a central position don't they?

I mean Walcott's a winger that's perfect for a 4-3-3 formation whereas I'm less convinced Sturridge would thrive on the flanks? Am I wrong?

No you're not, but he's played a fair bit for Chelsea wide of a front three. I was just replying to the original post anyway, which was clearly baseless.

I'd have Sturridge and Walcott.

Walcott wont leave until the summer according to Wenger, if he doesnt sign a new deal mind.

In defence of sturridge (trying to find some positives in him coming as he is gonna come), the one time he was given a chance was during the short reign of AVB at chelsea and he played him wide right of the front 3. In that season he made 30 league appearances and scored 11 goals. Now i don't know for certain, but i'm guessing they must have mainly come before he got sacked, because after that Di Matteo was playing drogba with torres as backup. Now considering our second highest goal scorer this season is OWN GOALS, im guessing those 11 goals would come in quite useful.

Oh and for Bolton he made 12 league appearances and scored 8 goals but that was playing through the middle.

Paulo explained this by saying "Yes I am a fascist, but not a racist".

That's cleared that up then.

It's a very complex subject.

Paolo Di Canio isn't a racist, I can confidently say that. I've seen so many interviews of Di Canio where he discusses his career and his outlook on life and just cannot see how he is racist.

But then again doing the fascist salute doesn't help his image ...

The guy is buddhist, he loves Asian culture, he's one of the most cultured Italian personalities out there - maybe even more so than Roberto Baggio ... Di Canio has repeatedly come out and spoken out against racism and intolerance towards homosexuals .... even half his entourage is black men ...

He's a very proud Italian, and an admirer of Mussolini ... but then again so are many of Italy's famous footballers - Aquilani & Totti included ... but I'd never say they are racists because of that.

Maybe he is just a little thick then, because anyone with any basic understanding of Italy (under Mussolini) and the man himself will know that he wasn't a person to admire, in any way shape or form.

Secondly, he was idolised by the Lazio fans, infamous nazi cunts, and did nothing to quell their constant racism. I can't say for sure that he is or isan't a racist. What I can safely say is that for the reasons stated he is a cunt

I find it quite amusing when people say its ok he's not a racist, he's only a fascist like they're poles apart.

Was Hitler a racist or a fascist? And why aren't so many of the famous German footballers "admirers" of Hitler?

Have we got links to interviews with the named players above where they say why they're admirers Mussolini?

When we were signing Aquilani there was a story about him collecting fascist memorabilia or something like that if I'm not mistaken
