His speed has never been an asset - but it's slowed down a lot this year.
I think he'll make the move to Ajax now imo ... though I'd take him for a reasonable price to back up Bobby.
 
Tough call but I'm leaning towards no.

I take it this would be a summer transfer? By that stage 6 months off 33, we'd probably only get a season out of him.

If it was this January and he arrived to help us push for the title then yes.

STATS 18/19
Fast enough to score 11 goals. Before someone says the Spanish League is piss poor - in terms of European trophies, they piss on the EPL teams.
Doubt Ajax could not afford him. Probably go off to Japan on a £25m salary. I would love to see him back, and see what he could do with Salah.

Surely his speed is the same as Bobby's?

And his tenacity is greater?

My only worry would be his stamina? Can he still run around like a madman? Or has the years eating paella and bossing La Liga made him lazy closing defenders down?

If so, he wouldn't be a good fit. If not, then I'd take a punt on him. I'd hope his greed in front of goal wouldn't clash with Sadio and Mo's. I'm not sure whether 3 tremendously selfish forwards would work so well.

Sorry mate, watch the games ... he's not the same player he was even last year ... He's done well, as most strikers do in that set up and with that league, but unless it makes sense financially, I'd pass (though I love him still).

I guess I should have written 'speed at which he plays' ... which links to tenacity, stamina etc ... He doesn't have to play that way, for a few reasons.
 
See it from a financial perspective. We already have Sturridge's massive wage which is obviously something a starter would get. Could we afford what Suarez would demand?
Yes, we probably could, but it would be financially irresponsible. We could probably pay two decent young players with what we would spend on a short term Suarez.

How does that compare to our other ex striker , Aspas ?
 
I'd be all for it with Suarez and Firmino rotating as and when.

FSG will never do it though.

Unless hes willing to bite Coutinho and get his agent to start leaking his contract details to force through the move then hes clearly not that passionate about playing for us.

Yes, he's never going to match Sturridge's hyper-passionate playing style.
 
Yeah imagine being able to bring on Luis for a 20 min stint against stubborn opponents.
 
I'd love to get him in Jan for the remainder of the season. He deserves a title with us, and if he's motivated (which I am certain he would be) it gives us a much better chance.

Then send him to Ajax at the end of the season in exchange for Kasper.
