If you were Klopp and you needed to raise money for additional transfers, who would you sell, and how much do you think you could raise?
Maximum of 3 choices

I'm going to put this here and then make a run for it.

There are very few players in the squad who we could sell for decent money and not have to rush out and buy anyone. Alisson is one of those people.

I'm not saying Kelleher is better. I'm not saying Kelleher is good enough for a top 4 team. But he might be good enough for the squad at the moment, and he might continue to develop if we play him.

Every other person on this poll would need replaced (apart from Nat), and we'd be doing extremely well to replace them at a profit (which is the entire point of this exercise as the midfield needs an enormous injection of cash/talent).

For discussion purposes, yeah you can, would like to know why though, unless you're being facetious?

We have 236 players that can play on the left side of attack.

Sacrifice him.

This is the way.

I think there is an easier market for Kelleher to be honest.

Who would be signing Alisson for the sort of money we'd be willing to let him go for (e.g. record fee or close to it) ?

How much do you think we get for Kelleher? Surely we get £40-£50m for Allison.

We got 12.5m for Danny ward, double that doesn’t seem unreasonable?

If that’s the case I’d rather keep Allison and attempt a sell on clause with Kelleher as well.

Problem is, and maybe you disagree, 20m is a drop in the ocean compared to what we need.

That’s true but a potential 15m difference between Allison and Kelleher would get you nothing these days

Bazunu went for 15 million in the summer. Similar profile to Kelleher. I don't think we'd get more than about 15-20 million for Kelleher.

Ramsdale went for 30 million when he already had a couple of years of first team experience, plus had the English premium.

I'd be hoping for something in the region of 30M for Kelleher.

You'd really sell Alisson for 40M?

I think we need 3 midfielders and currently don't have the resources to do it, unless we manage to get extremely lucky with some bargain basement signings that turn out to be amazing. It might be possible to get away with 2 if we have no European games, but we'd still be hoping to get lucky with injuries.

The only players we could sell and not have to replace is Nat and maybe CJ, and neither are going to bring in much money. Jota/Dias would bring in decent money, but would be difficult to replace for cheap.

We've also held on to players too long recently. Alisson is 30, and although keepers typically last a bit longer at the top level it also probably means we'd have a bigger chance of getting a decent fee.

So all I'm asking is, pragmatically speaking, Is Kelleher + a better midfield > Allisson + a worse midfield

Obviously it's all based on the assumption we don't have a bunch of worldies lined up, and we don't have a massive budget.

Tielemans - Free
Kamada - Free
Kone - £26m
Anton Stach - £10m
Got you 4 for under £40m

Just been watching extended highlights of Netherlands v France. van Dijk is a pale shadow of the beast we once had. I’m thinking the injury really did rob him of something because he looked hesitant and slow.

We really need to go all out for Gvardiol

I've not been impressed with him this season at all. A colossus at his best but I'd be listening to offers that are based on his history rather than his future.

You would sell literally none of these players? None at all? Not under any circumstances?

He’s waiting for some Newcastle “stars” to come on the market, then the Liverpool squad will be culled in a heartbeat to make way for generational talents like Ryan Fraser & Jamal Lewis.

As usual you’ve been proved laughable wrong when you stated you’d have nobody in the Newcastle squad.
Sure not all of them have hit the same heights but many of them are performing at the level that would elevate us greatly.

Hahahahahaha - oh Dreamy… don’t tell me you’re going to double down on that one.

Which of the 7 that you’d have signed in a heartbeat should have signed?

“Elevated us greatly” - run that one by us again - am I ok to base it on the great level they’ve elevated Newcastle to.

Shall we go through them player by player and identify why they’ve not been snapped up by City, Bayern or Real!!!

Who were the magnificent 7 :
Ryan Fraser
Jamal Lewis
Callum Wilson
Jamal Lascelles
Alan Saint-Maximim
Joe Willock
Miguel Almiron.

I’d say… 1 of those…. Maybe.

I’d fuck off anyone who plays international football in the latter part of their career. Looking how van Dijk and Henderson, the last thing they need is to be getting more travel miles and minutes on the pitch.
