Sunlit Uplands

The way the UK is negotiating, I don't think that is going to be an issue.

Indian trade deal in peril after Suella Braverman migrant comments

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...r-suella-braverman-migrant-comments-bpgkw6prr

That’s what I meant.

Growth, growth, growth… except, pull out of free trade in the world’s largest single market, piss of India over immigration, piss off America over the NI protocol, piss off China over National security - who’s left… I suppose the UK could always sell more arms to Middle Eastern countries - not so sure whether they’ll go for cheese and artisan jam.

Between Kemi the new International Trade sec and Suella, would say not much chance of this FTA happening anytime soon.
Worst cabinet ever, who’s next to be fired after Kwasi?

It can't help that she's referred to as Ms Truss. Doesn't sound good at all. She might be better using her married name...

If she’s been a labour PM - there’d have been multiple headlines in certain papers containing the words “Truss” and “Tomato” by now.

Imo the lettuce will outlive her, But when she goes, what happens, maybe Hunt side steps in somehow. It’s feeling Scarier and scarier. :arghh:

So the one tax cut which would have helped ordinary people.. has been U turned by Jeremy Cunt!

But bankers bonuses.. untouched.

The MPs wanted Sunak didn't they? Are they just looking to get him in anyway.
Yes but it wasn't an overwhelming majority. Tories have ripped themselves apart.

Even if Sunak gets in, it'll be a rinse and repeat of Truss' rein.

Wallace has a marginally better chance, however I think he knows the game is up, so is waiting until they are the opposition for a rebuild.

Best thing for the whole country is to call a general election. They are cornered.

More of them wanted Sunak than wanted Truss, but he was still nowhere near 50%, and loads of them hate him. It isn’t like when Labour had Corbyn, and the MPs were basically plotting from word go to get rid. The Tory MPs would probably have happily stuck with Truss if she hadn’t been hopeless.

It makes all kinds of political sense to get on with a general election now, because the country is that fucked that no-one is going to fix it anytime soon.

With every passing week, the more sears Tories are shipping. Labour are probably thinking don't hold a GE, as this isn't rock bottom.

Labour aren't going to fix this no matter how big their majority. No-one is. That's why I'm saying the tories should call it now. Labour will be in the same world of shit in the next five minutes.

Truss is toast. It's exactly like Joe Lycett said. We've reached the dregs of the Tory talent pool and Truss is the backwash of it. She's too thick to resign and leave with any hint of dignity.

A GE is needed, but I suspect the Tories will get Sunak in and hope for a boost in the poll before considering it.
.

Q - when are price freezes for two years not price freezes for two years?

A - under this shit show of a govt. Jeremy Hunt showing again exactly what kind of person he is. Less than 3 days into the gig.

I've never disliked a politician more in my life.

He’s basically rolled back pretty much everything and seems initially market has responded positively. So much for gaming the markets.

Shows the whole notion of taking back control is a load of BS with Britain’s global dependency dictates what we can do, not other way around.

Scrapping the tax cuts 'raises £32bn' for the economy.

What world do the tories live on? Do they really think we are that stupid?

They've raised the sum total of fuck all.

The costing is totallly random it feels like.
It’s like their statement last year related to NHS nurses, assume since the number is net since the mini budget.
The original costings related to IR35 were BS anyway.
Seems like the gov is just playing Sim City finances to see how capital markets reacts to budgets without any real know how or plan for a while.

From “Growth, Growth, Growth” to “Cuts, Cuts, Cuts” in what, 2 weeks!

Thank God the UK is saving all that money not being in the EU….

I think I just heard Suella Baverman utter the word “wokerati”…

I think Dantes might be Suella Braverman!!!!

Guardian reading tofu eating wokerati. I'm not sure what's worse that or a Mail reading gammon looking truth denying economic disaster facilitating right wing fascist gobshite.

The sad thing is it's just another example of catchphrase politics to try and distract people from the actual real issues and blame others for problems of their own partys making. Liberal \ Kensington elite, anti-growth coalition, remoaners blah blah blah. The problem is now even the simpletons who voted these pond scum in are seeing through that veneer now and it's not working any more. This really is the dregs of the Tory party we're seeing now. The pimple on the boil on the unwashed hairy backside of UK politics. It's shameful even for them.
