Just thinking about how crap our transfer window has been and top players wanting to leave.
Then thinking about what the other clubs have achieved so far over the summer, have they really been that much better?

Spurs - Lost Kyle Walker, brought in no one and then possibly losing Rose.

Arsenal - Lacazette will be a good signing but possibly losing on Sanchez, Ozil, Ox ..at the very least each seem firmly committed to leaving for free, that's at least 100-120 mil in transfers they won't get back next season

Chelsea - Brought in Rudiger, Bakayoko and Morata (who looked good on the weekend) - Lost Matic. Issues around Costa but it doesn't look like they really care.

Man City - Brought in loooads of players already Mendy, Walker, Silva, Ederson, Danilo... they look to have addressed a number of the spots Pep wanted sorting.

United - Matic and Lukaku will definately help and Linderlof was expensive (never seen him play) Lost Rooney and Ibra and that bit of experience. They have strengthened but were pretty poor last season.

I'd say we are in a better position that Spurs and Arsenal at the moment but quite far behind the others.

Spurs will sign someone soon. They'll do a deal near the end of the deadline with some club desperate to let go of a player. Basically a club in our situation. with regards to Can, Sakho, Markovic etc.

Pochettino even said that there will be late signings.

I think we'll do the same.

Spurs are negotiating for Davinson Sánchez and reportedly had a £25m bid for Sessegnon rejected yesterday too (which they denied though).

We have not strengthen that much at all. We had a weak squad last season and we still have a weak squad this season. And with European football we are really asking for trouble. Don't get me started on Cuntinho.

We have arguably regressed and we are the weakest of the top 6 now. We could be mingling with the likes of Everton and West ham if we are not careful.

We're not in a better position than spurs since they're still better than us and will probably bulk out their squad with a couple of players. The first team doesn't really need improving, and I doubt they could've feasibly improved it this summer.

Arsenal have done will to keep hold of Sanchez and Ozil, and I'd guess both will end up staying. It's probably worth risk losing them on a free next year. They've had a good summer for me. Well, obviously they still haven't strengthened central midfield, but I doubt they ever will.

Chelsea have had a mare, but we've still had the worst summer.

This is exactly the kind of positivity I was looking for.

I think spurs will struggle this season, arsenal will also struggle, Wenger has lost the dressing room already.
It doesn't make our situation better but we ain't a million miles behind them as some have suggested

Why have Chelsea had a mare?

The situation with Costa, missing out on Lukaku, Conte openly grumbling about missing out on targets, Matic being sold to united behind his back. I don't think it's a happy camp.

Plus, I can't remember who it was, but one of their players came out and said that the players they've brought in are not as good as the ones they've let go. It doesn't sound as though there's a great atmosphere there.

Yeah saw that .. was it Azpilicueta ?

Arsenal aren't going to lose any players they don't want to.
Chelsea clearly have massive internal issues.
Man City will walk the league.

United are my favourites for the title. Sucks saying it, but they're going to be bloody difficult to beat with that midfield. And they have Lukaku to bang them in with Mourinho's long ball strategy.

Loads of clean sheets, and a goalscoring striker is generally a recipe for success. They probably lack another match-winner in attack, but Rashford is a very good talent. Hopefully they fall short.

City will absolutely tonk some teams, but they still have issues in the center of midfield and defence. They'll lose a few.

Arsenal are similar. If they keep Sanchez, their attack will be one of the best in the league. But they should continue to ship goals.

Chelsea will hopefully have weakened with all these issues surrounding Conte, and also the loss of Matic. I've never seen Bakayoko play, but I suspect he won't be as solid a player as Matic. Morata will be a downgrade on Costa too I feel.

Spurs are similar to United - very strong defence, and two superb attacking players. But I wonder if they have enough depth to go all the way.

We're probably the weakest of that top 6 given that we haven't strengthened in any meaningful way.

But but... Moreno is like a new signing at LB and Milner like a new signing in midfield. And not selling Coutinho will be like strengthening the attack too. Not to forget Studge is as fit as never before!!

Spurs finally made their move in the transfer market. Reportedly £42m inclusive of add ons

Looking at the benches today, it's pretty clear that the Manchester clubs have an upper hand when the games come thick and fast
