I just want to say something really quickly:

I was going through a really bad spell in 2011 in my life. My job wasn't great, my mom had cancer, and I was completely burnt-out. Anyway, my best friend decided to get me out for a night to watch Doctor Who, and I started to forget all of my issues.

Since I'm a huge sports fan, I decided to give soccer a try. I literally asked my friends on Facebook and Twitter for suggestions, and it came down to Liverpool and Chelsea. I decided to watch a Liverpool game, and as soon as I heard YNWA, I knew I was in love. The only time my dad and I were not fighting was when we were watching Carousel, and it was the only good memory I have of him.

Since then, this team has just meant so much to me. Mom's better, but through the good and bad, we had Liverpool. As someone from Philadelphia, I know what it's like to be passionate, but I'm not always sure you guys know how special you're relationship with the team is. Especially when you cheer them on when they're losing - it just says so much about the town and the fanbase.

This year was amazing, and exciting, and, yes, even heart-breaking, but the love between the team and the fans stayed strong.

I just wanted to thank this team, and all of you, because you've given me so much by just being you.

You're also find SCM a 'special' bunch where bickering seems to be our forte!

BTW, hope your mum gets better!

Nice post and I wish you all the best, pleased to hear that your Mum is better, it's a horrible illness to have to go through as I'm sure many on here can testify being effected by, in one way or another.

Good to read some perspective on how we've touched people and the effect this great season has had.

ClassicGirl, this is one big dysfunctional worldwide family. Like every family that has differences, we're no different. However, there's a lot of love to be found here.

Salute to DA, we almost got over the line. Dare to Dream, Believe!

I spent three years, along time ago, close to Philly and loved the passion that town had for sports. You've picked the right team here and your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to get to England and go see it in the flesh. I'm sure you'll have no problem getting help from people on here because we are legendary for that. Also it will probably help that you're pretty much the only female on here!
