The DB wet dream final

Ha ha ha ha. Keep digging buddy. You didn’t think he’d make Xmas 2023!

Just admit he’s proven you wrong and all will be forgiven.

He got to the semi final of the league cup beating Utd, City and us in the first leg of the semi.

He went one better in Europe and won the bloody thing after openly admitting he gave away the league to prioritise winning a trophy for the club. It was somewhat forced on him with injuries and he risked his entire careers reputation saying he believed he win this trophy and he bloody went and did it.

Give him the credit he deserves.

Conte couldn’t.
Mourinho couldn’t.
Poch couldn’t.

All hail Ange.

He's terrible and next season there is no shoddy EL against teams like Bozo Glimt to fall back on to keep him in a job - he'll be sacked by October, then end up back at a club nobody cares in the Malaysian league or somewhere.

He won this competition because he became more pragmatic and conservative. The wheels fell off for him at Spurs when he refused to pull back the high line in that devastating loss to Chelsea and swore himself an ideologue who would never compromise.

Which Ange will he be going forward? The first one has a chance at succeeding and learning from his experiences.

The second is just an Aussie Brendan Rodgers.

Read last night that Utd are in deep financial shit and even more so when missing out on CL revenue next season.
@Beamrider maybe knows this, but it was claimed that next season might be bad but in 2 years its horrific in terms of PSR.

They might be better off just selling Garnacho and Mainoo just to get some pure short term profit. They're decent players but hardly untouchable.

They need to just try to cobble together a decent XI next season which should carry them through a year without Europe.

They've been relegated once already in my lifetime (mid-70s). Wonder if the next one's on its way. They need a total overhaul whatever happens, off the pitch as well as on it.

Shame innit. :vamp:

They've only passed PSR in recent years as they did a deal with the PL for some extra relief from covid (they'd got them to agree that post pandemic revenues had been hit by covid, allowing them an extra allowances outside the covid period everyone else was allowed).
Not only will their results have worsened, but that allowance should start to drop out as well.
It really was shit or bust for them last night.
Spurs, by contrast, have no issues. Although their accounts show big losses, most of that is depreciation on the new stadium which can be added back, and they are well on top of their wage bill.
FLMAO.
I can do a deep dive on United if enough people want it, like and subscribe!

They’re fucked. The squad is shite. Still paying for the shite they have. Need to sell what is the less shite of the squad and won’t have the wiggle room to replace them.

They’ve still got to pay Casemiro about £20 million for the next year too.

It’s fucking wonderful.

I’ve never been so conflicted!

Certainly they're in a tight spot. I think they can probably get together a decent first XI if they do everything right but that's about it.

You are starting to sound like a broken record. Just for clarity what will your excuse be this time if he’s not sacked to avoid admitting he’s actually doing a great job.

He’s clearly stated knock out football is different to league and he’s more pragmatic so I don’t see him changing in the league at all but if they avoid injuries they’ll win more than they lose and do well in the CL.

I don't think he would say he's doing a great job.

Theyve been fucking shit. They won a trophy being a little less fucking shit. I actually don't mind him, but the first disingenuous thing he's said is that somehow he's been focused on this tournament very early. No. This is all that was left.

It was really good fun. I didn't watch any of it. You're overstating the case.

OK, I'll do some stuff on United for you. Might take me a few days, got quite a bit going on at the moment (my Dad just passed away). Cheers
