The Italian stallion

How about a goal in Carabao cup final, taken like a stud?
Or the match winning goal in the first game of the season
Or the other matches where he's looked lively, and talented.
Or showing up with a brilliant attitude last night, having been dropped from the CL Squad. And winning the game.

It's not just last night. We're going to have to admit sooner or later, that we have a gem here, who can deliver, if whatever mystery reason that kept him in the basement for the last year, is in the rear view.

I have a theory about this. You know how some 'average' former Premier League players, like McTominay, have gone to Serie A and thrived?
Maybe it's the opposite for Chiesa?
Moving to the Premier League might actually be a step up in terms of intensity and competition.
It could just be that it took him a year to adapt to the pace and physicality of the league.

He seems unanimously well liked, but I definitely get the vibe that he was put on Slot and that Slot didn't have the patience to persevere with him getting fit. We know that by the small squad that Slot uses and how much he doesn't rotate his favourites. Let's just hope his hand has been forced with this one, because everyone loves Chiesa. The players, the fans...
Especially so by Ekitike who took a red so that Cheesy can play on Saturday 😜

Every time he plays, he shows a little magic. Whether it's a shimmy and a shot, or a run down the line. Or a incisive difficult pass. Every time. I don't know if he can start now, but he can definitely do some long cameos.

Magic indeed. The control on the pass from Robbo yesterday was unreal. Just glued to his foot then a perfect little pass to Hugo. Maybe isak to start Saturday then and Chiesa on after 60?

I think it took him a bit less than a year, in fairness - but Slot didn’t want to take a risk of integrating him during the business end of the season. He already looked fitter and sharper in whatever minutes he was afforded near the end of last season, even scored in a cup final.

Agreed

It would also partly explain why he hasn't got much of a sniff.

Simple, we can replace an injured player if it's determined that he'll be out for more than 60 days.

But replacing a defender with Chiesa? Or with Rhys? Or whomever. Any other academy kids worth an introduction at center half?

I want to see Chiesa play WITH Isak though - how about a Chiesa-Isak-Salah front 3? Let Gakpo come off the bench this time.

That’s a nice line up and let’s Gakpo know he needs to get back to his previous form. If Chiesa can do another 90 then why not.

If he doesn't get at least 5 starts in the PL/CL before Jan 1st, he should leave and tell Arne to fuck himself on the way out.

Fucking sick and tired of good work going unappreciated all because managers can't be swayed from their obvious favouritism.
