The new number 9…

I Reckon we're going to be sniffing around all the release clauses in positions we like. Kerkez, de Cuyper, sesko, David, delap, Huijsen.

Sniffing, yes - pretty soon we’ll move on to “monitoring” and maybe even “preparing a bid” before they sign for someone else and we revert to “weren’t really interested after all”.

Apparently she's an OF pornstar and in her bio labels herself Simp Collector, Money Snatcher.

Let's just say that's suspect as hell. These thots will do anything for more subscribers

Is it really silly?

The overall package for Nunez was rumoured to be in the region 85M.

I've no idea of Sesko is actually worth that but that's the going rate for a top class striker / prospect these days.
We all know we overpaid for Nunez. We should learn from our mistakes with Nunez. Sesko is the 8th best striker in his league, I'll back the club if they get him but no way do I think we should go for him at that price.

There's not a lot of top quality available forwards, and a huge amount of teams looking for them. In the prem alone there's us, arsenal, united and chelsea all after a striker.

Do you think the 8th best striker in Bundersliga is "top quality" and worth paying €90m for when you have Cunha with release clause of £63m and Delap with a £30m release clause, all with Prem experience? We are PL winners that counts for something, Man U and Chelsea are in a financial pickle and both could face penalties related to PSR.
I am confident we will not lose out on players to Man U or Arsenal. Chelsea pay mad agency fees which we should not compete with

I haven't seen a single striker target who doesn't have some serious objection attached to him. Even Isak has his injury problems and age against him. Unless the club manages to unearth some gem from South America or somewhere, then we're going to have to pick our poison.

The only viable alternative I can think of would be to just deliberately sign a substandard placeholder like David, accept that would be a weak point in the team, and spend the money elsewhere.

If we’re signing Sesko I’d love to see us in for a super pacy young alternative to round off our options.

Apart from not likely to be on the market, not much reservatuons against Alvarez.

Can we get away with only signing one? I'm assuming Nunez is gone, Cheesy is likely gone. There has been a lot of mumbling about Diaz and Jota potentially being shipped out.

Unless we are extremely confident a youngster will break though (Danns, Rio or Trent perhaps or maybe even Figueroa). Danns is probably the only out and out forward and he's been injured a lot.

I say this knowing we are probably going to be very lucky to get one. And there are so few good ones around anyway.

Personally I think we need 2. A big name and a much more reasonably priced player. For example:

Ekitike + David
Sesko + Delap

That kind of shite

Id like to believe Jota still has a part to play, but I just can't see it anymore.

Yeah, that's my thinking as well but I fully expect us to gamble on one player.

I think they probably try to minimise churn as much as possible, so even though common sense says Jota probably needs to go as well as Nunez, I think in reality they'll prefer to keep a mostly useless Jota for another year. It does make some sense, really.

That's before you even get to the extreme dearth of strikers anyway.

I think (hope) we sign a big name No. 9, and a cheaper attacking player who plays on the wing or 10, but can also fill in as a 9.

Isak / Alvarez + Cherki / Fofana

I don't see us getting rid of all three bums in the same window. Can see us planning their exits though.

Jota is done. I love him, but his performances have fallen off a cliff. We need to recycle the squad in places it isn't up to scratch and he is someone who still has some level of resale value that we should upgrade
