8 players that are 29 and over, who are given significant game time, who would you keep and for how long, and who would you try to cash in the summer. This is about what you would do, not what you think the club will do.
 
The first thing I wouldn't do is what you'd do ! Sell them all and go for half a dozen of the unproven young players you advocate we buy !

OK seriously. Admit that sports science has extended the viable playing careers of top players at the zenith of their powers. CBs to say 35 on average, forwards to 32-33, midfielders the same. That would explain why we have not been in any desperate hurry (unlike some of our fans) to sell our players. It would also explain what seems to be our current policy of maybe 2 (3 max.) serious punts on 1st team players per season (2 transfer windows).

So on that basis (which I agree with so it's also my opinion) :

Bye bye Adrian (but not because of age but because of quality and we don't need him).

VvD - at least 5 years remaining, nothing to be done at all as far as CBs are concerned because we are already working on the next generation.
Matip - less durable so I expect only another 2-3 seasons out of him.

Thiago - his class means that even if he can only play 30-40 games a season he has at least another 2 seasons with us. So that means the gradual introduction of a potential replacement.

Hendo - the most at risk of our senior midfielders to immediate replacement (I'm assuming Millie is gone either this Summer or next at the very latest). If we were to get say Bellingham, then reduced to squad player next season.

Mane - if Mo re-signs (as I believe he will once the dust settles on this season) then I think he'll be gone this Summer (though hopefully stay another season in the squad). A lot depends on whether we need the money his sale would generate.

Mo. - I think he'll re-sign and hopefully stay another 3-4 seasons.

Firmino - I can see him staying another 2-3 seasons because of his value in certain games and off the bench, and he'll be happy with that as will I.

So to reiterate. There is absolutely no great hurry, bring in 2-3 new players per year (at least 1 p.a. will not reach the expected level) to refresh.

Klopp loves work but he also loves his family. I think he is in the office at 8am and leaves at 8pm most evenings, leaving little time for the family So my if I was Henry, I would hire Klopps wife to help run the clubs Charity funds, and get Klopp's son as part of the backroom staff.
Pep should be given more responsibilities like cup games, which will also allow Klopp to spend more time with his family.

At least it shows he cares. I think he believes he can play his way into form. When the fans think he'll play his way onto the treatment table.
 
I get his frustration. He’s spent a lot of time out and he must want a chance to play and rebuild his career. I wonder how much of it is down to, at the same time, knowing he isn’t good enough to get that chance here and that his time at the top is done.

I think that’s got to be a large part of it. Mentally he may be willing but technically and physically he just seems to be short.
 
I think the forward line is fine for a few years as long as Mane and Salah sign deals. Carvalho signing helps too. And a shout out to Kaide Gordon too, who might only be a kid but is one of the best youth players I've ever seen. He has a great chance of making it.

GK is obviously fine.

Defence is fine, especially if we hang on to Gomez, who I think can still be a big player for us, but the timing is a bit of an issue there. We could probably do with a backup right back, but maybe Williams can be that player. Maybe.

Henderson could probably do with replacing either this summer or next. Ox will go. Milner will go. Otoh I like Jones and Elliott and they should continue to improve.

It'd be good to have one new top class midfielder to start games and maybe a proper backup to Fabinho. Bellingham looks the most feasible option to me, given his age and the inevitability of him looking for a new club sometime soon.

If I was being ruthless I'd probably sell Bobby and buy that Nunez chap, just as extra insurance. But I can't really see that happening tbh.

It's really kind of remarkable just how little needs to be done given how little we've spent.

If Gomez goes, we have Van den Berg who can step in. By all accounts he's smashed it for PNE.

Yep I think Klopp is going to give Van den Berg a chance in pre-season.
I don't think Gomez is sticking around.
