What's it like being recognised?

It feels good when you are with your family or friends or girlfriend. People always say, 'When are you going to be in the first team?' I say, 'I don't know, I don't know - ask Rafa!' It has happened more since this pre-season.

Which stadium would you love to play in?

I'd like to play at Anfield in the Premier League or Champions League, but apart from that it's the Bernabeu. When I was a kid I supported Real Madrid. I think it's the best stadium in Spain and maybe one of the best in the world. I lived so far away in Malaga and Barcelona so I never went to games but I've been a few times now.

Which team's results do you look out for?

Malaga, because it's my home, and Real Madrid. I think they will probably win La Liga this season. They have signed most of the best players! Maybe they haven't signed defensive players but they will be okay!

Career high so far?

The best thing has been signing for Liverpool and since then the two pre-seasons I have spent with the first team - especially the one just gone. Playing with all the star names and going to Singapore and Bangkok with all those fanatical people. I knew it would be good but I didn't expect there to be so many fans.

Career low?

Thankfully I haven't had many. Maybe when I left home at 12 years old (to play for Barcelona). But since then I've never been injured and everything has got better, better, better. Touch wood.

Who is the funniest reserve player?

Vitor Flora. He is always joking, always talking, whether in the dressing room, the pitch, the hotel, the coach or during training. He is always trying to laugh with people and is a good person to have around.

Worst dresser?

Victor Palsson. He wears some not so good trainers. He thinks he looks perfect!

Best mate in the reserves?

Daniel Ayala. In the last few months we have become close friends. He is doing very well at the moment and I'm happy for him.

Area to improve on?

Everything! I am only 18 years old. The main things though are my strength and my work with the defenders. I also need to make easier passes.

Your main attributes?

Playing between the lines, trying to get the ball all the time, getting assists and tryng to score goals.

The kind of player fans like to watch…

No, the fans like to watch Steven Gerrard and Zinedine Zidane.

Who is the best player in your position ever?

If we're talking strikers, then it's Ronaldo - the old one. If it's attacking midfielders then I will say Zidane. I always like to see him play.

You are a forward but could you play anywhere else?

Maybe in midfield but not defensive. Last season I played a few games in midfield and I asked why. They said it was good for me because I could learn to defend. This is right.

What's the best thing about being a Liverpool player?

Just to come here and play for this club. To go out on the pitch and see the people - that's the best thing.

I guess he can't have been too sad to leave Barcelona then.

I remember reading a while back that Malaga told him that if he left them for Barca, they'd bin off his brother who was also playing for them at the time. Harsh.

Boo hiss to that

He looked the most promising youngster 2 summers ago, playing very well in all these friendlies, scoring for fun with the reserves and he didnt get a single chance in the league. Did he even play in cup games?
Rafa bought N'Gog instead.

I think he will. The only up side to the utter utter negligence of not strengthening the forwards is that Pacheco will get his chance.
Sooner or later Torres will be missing , at which point Rafa will see that Fernando is the only one at the club capable of playing the single role up front.
This then means that he will have to revert to two up front. If he thinks, in a million years, that two from Babel, Dirk, N'gog and the Crow stand a snowballs chance in hell for any period of time, he is more deranged than I thought, at least Pacheco will bring some creativity and guile.

I can't wait to see this lad break into the 1st team.

I haven't followed the youngsters that much, but it seems that by all accounts we have a whole load of talented lads coming through.

Wrong. He has not been scoring for fun with the reserves. He did very well with the U 18. His performance with the reserves have been a bit Garcia like. Though I do agree that he looks like the sort of talent who would do well with better players around him. Even if there are players outshining him in the reserves, I think he has a better chance of making it in the first team.

You mean when he was 16.

So he's never going to make it and Rafa's a c**t because he refused to play him regularly in the first team bwetween 16 and 18 years of age.

Peekay: yeah I meant scoring for youth teams.

StevieM: what are you on? well he was 17 already I think, how old is he now?
Im talking about giving him a chance, at least in cup games...he's better than N'gog imo.
Rafa bought that french lad and played him instantly in 1st team after Pacheco had another good pre season.

Thats why I think Pacheco, like many others before him, will never get a proper chance.

Mate, he turned 18 in January. He plays in a different position to N'Gog, in a role that is currently filled by Gerrard, with Benayouns as back up.

There has also been questions about his ability to mix it physically at the top level in England, which given his age is not surprising.

Maybe we're actually managing him in the right way, holding him back until he's actually ready. He got his chance to impress in pre-season and looked "alright" for a kid. He'll get his chance to step up.

I for one, think we're looking after him in the right way.

Let's hope his missus doesn't get pregnant.

Ha a striker yet they are already teaching him how to defend.

Looks like he might get a run sooner rather than later.

His attitude seems spot on.

He's still only 18. Beardo really clicked when he was about 22. Pacheco still needs to strengthen himself - you can't expect him to make a huge impact in the Premier league playing in that position until he does - but I hope he'll get some low-pressure run outs here and there as a sub, and play in some cup games. Maybe he'll grow into it much quicker than expected. The only way to know is to give him a chance.

He's surely stronger than Yossi even now?

Ha ha! Maybe, but Yossi is quite good at dealing with all of the holding and blocking these days. Pacheco tends to run into trouble and get eased off the ball.

Exactly, so it's more tactical than physical.

I think he's progressed really well in the last year. He looked like he had put on some muscle when played during pre season, and his performances for the reserves have been really good.

Let's hope he can get some sub apperances soon. On the bench against Burnley would be a good thing, if we're 2 or 3-0 up he could get the last 20 mins.
Well, a bit of both, yes, but he's still a bit frail. Yossi's tougher than he looks.
Yossi been playing first team football with men since he was 17(small league but still men), and as we all know how much faith in him I have I would like to say watching his youtube's just made me curse Rafa for not playing him more. He is pure genius in form.

Agreed 😱

Why so shocked!? I speak the truth most of the time...

I usually don't use smilies cause the meaning is always easily confused.
It was a sarcastic shocked reaction to I rating another youngster of ours. (I'm all about our yooths)
