Ok so it's a very hypothetical question which would obviously depend on the budget available. But say we had proper money to spend in january (or even next summer) , would you look to buy proven quality that would probably take the likes of sterling and suso out of the team or would you continue with them and not stifle their progression ?

I mean they obviously both have potential but can a club like ours, which really needs to get results ,afford to play a very long waiting game and hope these guys fully hit the heights we require ?

But then if we buy quality players are we running the risk of wasting some of the best youth talent we have seen in a long time ?

It's a tough one really , i'm not quite sure how best to handle it .

Well for a start I'd buy a quality striker, and I don't think that affects any of the young players. Personally I think Sterling and Suso are too young and inexperienced to be starting every week, and ideally they'd be rotated, used from the bench and start cup games, which I think is probably Suso's status anyway once injured players return. So that leaves Sterling as the one filling a major hole in the squad, and IMO we'd be better off with a senior winger ahead of him who he can share games with and challenge for a starting role.

We need a goalscorer - that doesn't really affect our kids.

We need a LB - that doesn't really affected our kids.

If we have an opportunity to sign a good player, and it will take playing time from Suso and/or Sterling, but improve the 1st eleven and our chances of 4th? Do it.

Keep the kids playing and build around them. They aren't the ones letting the team down consistently.

Proven almost equals past it.

Whilst I would love to see Sterling and Suso keeping their places in the team, I just cant se them being able to keep their current standards up for a full season. There is also the risk of injuries by forcing too much football on them.

As far as the Europa matches are concerned I think we need to give Yesil and Morgan a chance. We need to manage Suarez carefully between now and January so he needs to rest for these games. In the longer term we just need to treat Sterling and Suso and others with care, but keep them involved and keep bringing them back after brief breaks. They're first teamers now.
