Post Match UCL PSV (H) 1-4 Wed 26th Nov 20:00

We got battered and the only changes he made was to switch jones/Szoboszlai and move gravenberch more right.

Fucking chancer.

We are predictable on the ball, and it is easy for teams to isolate our attackers. Plan A is bust and the only Plan B we ever have is throwing more attackers on in the last 10 mins. It fluked us some wins in the first 4 games but its failed almost every game since.

If we sacked the cunt when I said we should've - when all you were still noshing him off, we'd still have a fighting chance of making CL next season. We aint making diddly squat. He's long broken any confidence or motivation we had after the Madrid game.

I’m not one for knee-jerk sackings of managers. Klopp had a bad run in our last title defence season, some fans wanted him to go, FSG stuck by him and he got his shit together again. Generally I favour the more patient approach, any team can have a slump, even a funk. But it’s time. And the reason it’s time is because I don’t see a world in which Slot turns this around. I just don’t see us playing well again with him at the helm. The why and how it came to this is only relevant in selecting his replacement. It’s not fixable with him in charge.
But I don’t see FSG changing things unless and until they start to see empty seats in the stands throughout the game. That was what it took under Hodgson, and I think it’ll be the same this time too. Fans need to vote with their feet.

Quite honestly as a club executive you'd have to be brave to allow this situation to continue and likely worsen.

For compassion I think you should take Arne out of the firing line as amply demonstrated he cannot make the team work.

More to the point whilst the owners may not have footballing acumen they will recognize failure and be putting a great deal of pressure on their club executives to sort this out and pronto. Edwards and Hughes will not want this stain on their CV's and they'll push Slot out before they are replaced themselves.

How can he continue playing Gakpo, Salah and Kerkez is beyond me
Stubbornness, desperation...pick one.
Wasn't this the season where he was supposed to use the bench more?
Look at the minutes, Szobo, Virg, Gravy, Salah etc have racked up already.

i watched this last night with maybe 50% concentration but to me, in the second half, kerkez started to look like a player. he seems to be shedding some hesitation and getting in the zone.

circumstances were awful of course, you don’t want to have to fall tragically behind before he starts to play and overall to date his signing looks very average. but green shoots?

Kerkez was better.

Then 5 minutes after I said that in our WhatsApp group, he cost us one of the goals.

Not sure which one it was now. We concede them by the bucket load every game, so it's hard to keep track of which goal is which.
The one where Salah was rounded like a training cone and both centre backs moved way too far to the right?

I didn't watch this one but thought he was positive against Forest as well. Again, it's a low bar like everything else at the moment but still

Kerkez is not quite the least of our problems, but way to the back of the queue. He'll be fine once the team as a whole has a clue what they are trying to achieve as a group rather than individually.

Kerkez is so ridiculously one footed he makes Riise look like Iniesta.

I know he can be better than we've seen, but it's remarkable a player can get to this level and run around in circles to get the ball on his left foot. He's always going to be limited.

I don't necessarily mind a player being one dimensional but they have to be really fucking good at what they do.

It was often said that Robben was one dimensional - speaking of Gakpo and cutting inside - but it was hard to stop him regardless.
