United - What Now?

Brilliant! Shame for him is that I doubt even Scum fans think much of him, Newcastle fans detest him and he fucked us over rightly.

It could have been so different for him.

The scum started off well but after 20 minutes Barca were comfortable with the pace of the game and bossed it from there.

4-4-2 was the wrong formation to start off with. Fergie should have packed the midfield. Fuck I'm over the moon that they got whupped and have been relentless on facebook.

I'm loving the hate my mates are giving me because I got under their skin. A season of shit from them returned in truck loads with interest.

Feels so right and so good!

What happened to darren fletcher, there was a period when he was playing well enough to be the first down on their team sheet? Playing carrick ahead of him seems ridiculous.

You know I thought I'd be annoyed seeing owen win something with united but that photo made me laugh for some reason even before I noticed what it said on the ribbons

They should have started Anderson and Fletcher instead of Park and Carrick.

Yep, he's missed all three CL finals, the first one he didn't get picked for, the second he was suspended and now he's struggling with injury.

Was it just me or did they make Rio look like a 55 year old man?
Despite Man U winning the prem I noticed that they arent as invincible as the Wigans and the Birminghams of this world make it seem.
Just goes to show how poor this season was for most of the top teams in England including us of course. Makes me think we can win it next year.

Yea it shows we arent a million miles away from challenging, morale attitude and a manager that breeds these have as much importance as the talent of the players. As much as I hate fergie he has the players believing they can win every match and bouncing back from defeat quickly. Now we have someone in charge capable of the same.

Utd started off well and closed Barca down but after about 20 minutes, Barca got comfortable with the pace of the game and owned them.

Fergie should of played 4-5-1 to crowd the midfield and deny them space. Playing 4-4-2 was naïve. Its all elememtary 'Ol Whisky Nose!

After a season of taking so much sh1t from the scumbags, it was beautiful to return it in truckloads with interest. Damn it feels right and oh so good.

The hate I'm getting from from scum loving mates makes it all the more worth it. I'm needling them at every opportunity and have gotten under their thick skins ;-)

My facebook status: Roland Grantham dedicates this to the self proclaimed greatest team in the world Manchester United and their fans who were counting their chickens before they hatched.

Yeah we do and it's a step in the right direction. But we desperately need to strengthen the team as well.

Ya if united have showed us anything its that we need some goal scoring wide midfielders or wingers to move up the table.

I read a piece today talking about how Fergie was going to take the next 3 years to knock Barca off their fucking perch and rebuild his squad. Also spoke about the Glazer's giving him the cash to do it and how they have 3 hot prospects in the youth team that just won the youth cup Ravel somebody was one of the kids.

The thing is though, are the likes of Ashley Young good enough along with Wes from Inter, Rodwell and some kids going to cut it? I also don't think Fergie has the sway he used too. Losing a play of Ronaldo's stature wouldn't have been accepted by him 10 years ago. Rooney busting his chops wouldn't have been accepted 10 years ago. He's slowly losing that control that he had over people as players and their ego's get bigger than football.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard showed there was no love lost with arch-rivals Manchester United after he was pictured celebrating their 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League final.

Photos of Gerrard, who celebrates his 31st birthday on Monday, shows the England midfielder revelling in the Red Devils slump whilst out with his close pals at the weekend.

The Anfield skipper, together with his best mate Paul McGrattan and boxer Paul Smith Jnr, were seen reminding the Old Trafford faithful of Liverpool's five European Cup wins – two more than their collection of three.

Hi All

WE WOULD NOT BE RAPED LIKE THE WAY MAN U WERE ON SATURDAY.

We have played that team under rafa, give or take 2 or 3 different players in that barca side (someone can correct me). In terms of being out-passed and f*cked over - does anyone remember that Arsenal side that basically out passed us for 20minutes where we did not even touch the ball ? - in the end we won that game. Also its worth pointing out that the last time Man U got raped like that was when they played us at home with Kenny in charge, think it was the same score that day too.

Off the top of my head:
Belletti, Deco, Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Marquez, Thiago Motta, Gudjohnsen - The team was completely different. But I do agree to an extent that Rafa's team would've have done better.

The way that that team played and the way they play now is not any different IMO. The midfield pairing that drove that team are still in place, I don't really thing much of their defence as it is - its the midfield lot that make the difference for them, we would have dealt with them much better. Also - its not the first time Fergie has come against a Barca team that he could not handle, I still remember in the early days of his CL attempts coming accross that team that had Romario in it, also what about that year when he did beat Barca to win the CL ? - that was not too long ago. They looked just pathetic after the first 20 minutes in the game on Saturday.

We've beaten Barca twice in recent memory 2001,2007.
Guess who was in goal when Gary Mac scored...?

They may have had Xavi and Iniesta but your missing their main ingredient! Guardiola wasnt in charge !

Rafa may have had his faults against lesser teams, but I bet he would've been more than a match for Guardiolas' Barca. Hypothetical stuff though. Depends on what team Rafa will be managing too.

Confirmation: Paul Scholes has retired, but will join MUFC's coaching team for the 2011/12 season. Full story on ManUtd.com.

Last time we beat them (again) at their place, we just slipped Momo's leash and told him he could eat whatever he killed.

He was immense that day. Arbeloa also man marked Messi out of the game.

Anyone see Chris Ecclestone in the run-up to the game?

Didnt know he was a Manc.

His Mancunian accent kind of gave it away for me.
