Gotta be captain next season.

As good as a CB you could get anywhere.

And he’s not even started shooting or taking free kicks which he can do.

Beast.

Better then Hyppia but needs to do it for 10 years and win shit to surpass him.

Joke this fella isn't he?

Yeah, you could tell he was brilliant when he played for Southampton (I don't recall seeing him play for Celtic) and it's only a shame we didn't buy him even sooner than we did.

He's playing at a level that is obscenely high

Yep he's fucking boss. The great thing is he loves the club. Clearly. He always puts himself up front for the media. He's eloquent on and off the pitch and to top it all I bet he has a massive cock.

Love the header yesterday. In the past i've noticed he often holds his whole neck and head still when going for headers but this one was fucking epic. So much power and accuracy.

I think he'll benefit the most from VAR. I'm sure he's fouled the most from our corners. Can't get away with that shit when VAR's around.

I don't think there's anyone in football right now that would make defending look so easy and I feel that's the biggest compliment you can give to a defender really

I noticed he scored in the 69th minute too..

Which is quite a coincidence, as he is the only Bloke I would consider a 69er on..

He's an absolute worldy. I think he'd make more a difference to a team than if they went out and bought a neymar, bale, hazard etc. This guy can singlehandedly bring up the entire level of a back 4, and a keeper must love having a player like that infront of him.
Surely has to be given the captaincy, surely. Henderson shouldn't have it anyway.

Get him a world class partner in defence for him in the summer and that’ll be the icing on the cake.

Probably wrong but in with my osteopath today and we had half an hour thinking about players that could walk into any side in the world and make them better without any training sessions or introductions and all we came up with was Van Dyke and Ronaldo*

*This wasn't an anti Messi thing, just with Messi you need players around him who know what he's about to do, where with Ronaldo teammates are just nuisances that get in his way.

But yeah, good enough to just walk into any starting eleven in the world, definitely.

Although I'd love it to be Gomez, I just don't think his body will allow it. And we can't keep gambling with 2nd rate backups if he keeps getting broken. He'll have to become the backup and we bin off one of matip/lovren.

Gerrard kept being broken when he came on to the scene look how he turned out

Gomez will be fine, that last injury was a little unfortunate, not really from him being brittle but more thuggery from Burnley

It was a bit different with Gerrard, in that he had a growth spurt as a teenager that left him with back and hamstring problems that kept recurring until his body settled down. With Gomez it just seems to be one seemingly isolated problem after another. But I do hope he returns and stays fit - he's such a classy defender and he's still got the potential to improve even more.

Yeah that's true - He was always injured back in the day. Something to do with growth....
