It is great when they all click - but lets be honest - mostly they don't and you rely on one of them clicking. If Studge leaves - we will definitely need a striker but I am in 100% agreement with @rurikbird - we need a strong midfielder - none of our main midfielders inspire any confidence when the opposition are getting at us and putting us under pressure. Some of their passing was very lazy today and overhit at times.Really? Do we?
We need a cm capable of playing deep.
Can and Gini got totally bypassed duringevery half chance they had. Literally one ball would take both out of the game, time and time again.
A kante/mascherano type would have a far greater influence on this side than a vvd or whoever at CB
PREACH!We need a cm capable of playing deep.

Klopp doesnt want a dm. He wants a cm capable of shielding the back four whe were out of posession, something a kante type does for chelsea. I dont think an alonso type is rightnfor this side, we need athleticism, the two cb/ back three press high up and when the ball is lost we have noone capable / in position if the press fails.Kante doesn't usually stay too deep, does he? I think he's more of a roaming ball-winner – the best in the league in that role. Keita is a similar type (with more attacking quality), so what we need more is a Busquets/Alonso/Didi Hamann type – someone who prefers to stay deep, perhaps not the fastest runner, but excellent at reading the game and with playmaking ability. I keep waiting for Can to turn into that player, but I have to say his reading of the game and application disappoints me time and time again.
Really? Do we?
why? When he won't get a game. And we seem to have no problem scoring.
I think yesterday demonstrated why need another option who is more clinical in front of goal.

Beginning of the season Salah was constantly scoring tap ins. Now we seem to be relying on him to spring the attack with runs from deepThe one player in the squad who is instinctively suited to attacking the box and exploiting any loose ball or any slip by a keeper is Ings, so I hope he gets a few chances to really push on now he's fit. He can score from outside the box as well, but that ability to score scrappy goals from close in is something we've been missing since, I guess, Kuyt left.
Depends on how long his piece of string wasAnyone think Ings would have scored that chance Solanke had?
No team is that clinical on a consistent basis.Milner should be LB until we buy a better one.
We do need a striker 100%
Tonight we scored what 7 goals from 12 efforts.
We are not normally as clinical and that's what we miss in Firmino, that killer instinct in tight games where you may only get one chance
