Yeah, that's all he's good at. Fuck me, i'm disappointed with andy so far, but some of you are fucking unreal in your criticism of him. There's a lot more to come, and he's a much better player than he's given credit for. Whether he's the right player to suit how we play or whether he'll ever justify that price tag is a different debate, but some of our fans need to grow up and stop writing him off so soon.

We paid 35 million pounds for him Jon. We're entitled to question what the fuck we actually got for that.

Who underrates Drogba?
Anybody who campares him to Andy Carroll
Never saw much of him at Newcastle so Im only judging on his time in a red shirt, which has certainly left alot to be desired

I think people compare him to Andy Carroll, and I have done this, based on his build and his potential. Not because of anything he's done so far.

I know what you mean but its more the case that people want him to play like Drogba, not that he actually does. Drogba might be a complete twat but he was a fantastic centre forward at the peak of his powers, Carroll doesnt seem to have anything in common with him other than height, even his build is something of a red herring as Carroll rarely muscles anybody of the ball, Ive certainly never seen him give centre halves the sort of physical battering Drogba does.

as has been mentioned Carroll needs to do a couple of basic things before we can take him seriously, the first is to adjust his attitude and realise he is wasting the greatest opportunity of his life, the second is to realise his own limitations as a player and make a concerted effort to improve in certain areas. He will never be another Messi but he could become a good target man if he fills out becomes more aggressive and learns to hold the ball up and link play better

Yeah good post, and I agree with pretty much all of it.

I will disagree with you on one small point, though. In his time at Newcastle he did show he was capable of bullying defenders and whole defences on his own. But, yeah, we haven't seen any of that at Liverpool. And if we have, it's been in very small flashes that are few and far between.

excellent....we have a guns and roses fan!

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that Liverpool are not playing to Andy Carroll's strengths.

"I think Andy Carroll’s a fantastic player and I don’t think Liverpool play to his strengths if I’m honest," Pardew said on the Sky Sports 'Goals on Sunday' programme.

"You give him the ball in the right areas and he’ll finish, no question."

"I watched them in the week, Liverpool, and they put two crosses into the box: Luiz fouled him for a penalty which wasn’t given, and then Alex handballed it and they got a penalty.

"But they just don’t deliver the sort of balls that he wants really. He’s good on the floor, he’s decent, he’s a decent striker but he’s not top level."

When quizzed as to whether Carroll needs to adapt to Liverpool's style of play or vice versa, Pardew said: "Well something’s got to help him I think if he wants to be a success there, because I think with the movement and the players they have he doesn’t get the deliveries in that box that brings out his strength.

"Andy’s going to feed on those situations. The modern era that we’re in there’s less crosses and there is more movement and there is more trickier play and Andy perhaps needs to adapt his game to fit in there."

The Newcastle boss added that in his opinion, left-back Jose Enrique, who also left the Toon for Liverpool, may not be ideally suited to provide the service from the flanks that the young hitman needs.

"I had an issue with Enrique putting the ball into the box for him [Carroll]," Pardew said. "He wants to feel his way in, find a route in there – don’t get me wrong he’s a fantastic player – but he wasn’t the type of full-back who wants to get the ball out of his feet and put it in the box."

Pardew is backing Carroll to make it to the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.

"He’s a terrific player, I felt sorry for him when he was left out of the England squad," he said. "I still feel in the European Championships that he should be included, I believe he’s a potentially good player for England."

Covering his back x2.

He's an Arsehole, how dare he tell us and Kenny how to use our players, what the fuck has he done in management?

It's not that different to what many have said on here. The issue is Andy Carroll isn't worth us changing our play for - he's not good enough to justify it.

Meaning Kenny spent 35M on the wrong player for our club.
