Well it was always going to be a building process over a few seasons. Hopefully these lads will give us good foundations for they future. Eh Shay?

I wouldnt moan about Aspas, Alberto, Mignolet, Cissokho, Toure, Given, Sakho, Ilori and Moses.
It would be a good window.
Problem being Spurs, Chelsea and Citeh have had GREAT windows and were already ahead of us.
Mr Rodgers is going to have to be godlike this year.

Would people take a finale of Sakho ,Illori, Moses and Given?

At this late stage, yeah, because it'd gotten to the point where I didn't think we were going to sign anyone else let alone four players.

On the whole it's been a bit disappointing because I thought we'd do something to address the balance of our midfield / attack.

I guess it will ultimately depend on whether some of our punts pay off or not. If Sakho does become anything like the player he was hyped up to be a couple years ago, Mignolet proves a worthy successor to Reina, Cissokho recaptures some of his old form for Porto / Lyon and Alberto proves we weren't completely mad to spunk 7M on a seemingly random Segunda player then we'll probably end up looking back on this transfer window as fairly successful.

A lot of "ifs" there though.

11.5 for the Danish lad Spurs paid. Bargain!!!! Would have rathered we had got him for the money we paid for Aspas and Alberto. Some window by Spurs.

Word on Twitter is that we're still actively looking for someone better than Moses, but the odds are it's him. For me, Given, Sakho, Ilori and Moses represent a solid finish to the window. If we're lucky with injuries and suspensions, the squad should tide us over till Jan where we can renew our search for a top left winger -- unless Moses has been Rodgers' choice all along.

he's a striker no? I thought we were after a winger/attacking midfielder.

Yup. Of all the players we've been linked to this summer, this one is perhaps the only one that doesn't really add up. Rodgers doesn't seem to want another out and out striker.

We needed a centre back or two and it looks like we're getting it...I don't know what people are complaining about tbh.

Yes we're lacking a big name signing in attack but with Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho, Aspas, Sterling, Borini and possibly Moses we should be ok in terms of attacking options.

Others have sold their best player to fund it, a point you continue to ignore while you're busy fucking moaning.

excuse me for having high standard for lfc. what do you want me to do, sing and dance whilst our rivals steal a march on us.

Sure some have sold in order to strengthen.

But we have spent 9m on a goalie (when we already had a very good one), potentially 20m on two centre backs and 7m on a unknown second division spanish lad and another 7m on a spanish striker who is unproven. And still we have not addressed the major weakness - lack of FIREPOWER. I've got every right to be miffed.

Yarmolenko, or the anti-Downing, as I call him, would be ace. Nothing but Twitter talk only though.

Lack of fire power? We've got two of the best, most prolific strikers in the league. Duh.

I agree with both of you.

Simply cos I don't believe we necessarily need a striker to provide the firepower, but rather either a world class striker that puts away 1 in 3 chances (RVP) which is not gonna happen, or the combination of Suarez /Sturridge & an am who can unlock defences time & again so the strikers can capitalise & we can make our long early spells of possession count much more often.

If. If instead of Moses we sign a top top player it would be an amazing AMAZING window wouldnt it?
I like Moses, he is a good player who can really part defences, Put he isnt a week in week out match winning threat.

If it were to be a Munain, Mata to come in. Well shit it would be the best window since Hyppia, Hamman, Smicer and Henchoz came in one window.

Spurs have sold their best player and signed Soldado who, in my opinion, will be a flop in England. Great window? I wouldn't be so sure.

Chelsea and City we should not worry about at this point, we can't compete with them yet. Man U and Arsenal have not done anything to improve and will likely regress. It would be great for us to add another bit of world class quality to our attack and we came very close to that with Willian, but the truth is if we look at our competition for 4th Arsenal don't have anyone in the same class as Suarez and Tottenham have just sold the only player who was in his class. Our undoing last season was the brittle defense, the stupid recurring mistakes that made us lose points in games we dominated and killed our momentum. If we can sort it out with this transfer window, while keeping Suarez and adding a bit more quality and variety to our attacking options (Aspas + Moses + Alberto > Downing + Suso + Shelvey), I believe we can take the next step towards more consistency which will allow us to get into Champions League.
