Will Hughes

Throw in a few more. Just because we can. It's brilliant bargaining.
No offence but Hughes seems to be well ahead of Coady considering that he's 2 years younger and already playing for the u21s.
There's at least three players ahead Flanno in the club and staying won't do him any good.

FRom the Independent......

Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal for the £10m-rated Derby County midfielder Will Hughes, whom they would leave at the Championship club for the rest of the current season.
The England Under-21 international, who is 18, has long been regarded as one of the brightest talents in English football. He made his Championship debut for Derby at the age of 16 and was a regular in the side last season, playing 35 league games.
Hughes has been watched extensively over the last six months by Liverpool's chief scout, Barry Hunter. The teenager's performances have merited the attention of all the leading Premier League clubs, including Manchester City and Arsenal, but it is Liverpool who are prepared to pay the premium price for an English talent and leave him at his current club to develop for another year.
Hughes played for England Under-21s against Scotland last week and impressed once again. He is part of a small group of English players who the Football Association hopes can be developed in the next cycle of Under-21s to make the step up to senior level within the next four years.
Unlike many young players of his age group, Hughes has extensive first-team experience – albeit it at Championship level. While he will represent a considerable investment, and a risk, Liverpool are aware that the price is only likely to rise over the coming months.

Reminds me a bit of Gascoigne. Should we be spending 10m on a player to loan him back to the selling club for the season or should that money be put towards a player who can improve the first eleven now?

He's a Liverpool fan, a proper one it seems. Idolizes Gerrard. He'd never turn us down for Spurs. If he does I'll lose my faith in football.

A 10 mill deal will be structured with different clauses and add ons.
It wont be 10 up front.

Saw him against Scotland and was very impressed.
Good signing that could be great in a few years.

Clough told the Derby Telegraph on Wednesday afternoon that the club has yet to receive any bid for the player.

"We've had no bids or contact from anybody," said the manager.

"If somebody comes in through the front door and makes an official enquiry or bid, we will have to react to it.

"Unless there is somebody sitting there with an awful lot of money burning a hole in their pocket I cannot see it changing."

When asked about the £6m figure reported elsewhere, Clough laughed and then said: "Nobody knows what we want or what the fee is going to be come the time because we have not got a specific valuation in mind.

"Would it be more than £6m? Yes, I think it is fair to say that.

"We just think it is going to be a very, very substantial figure to tempt him away."

Derby want £15 million according to the Sunday People.
They also want him loaned back to Derby for the rest of the season.

If that's the case, I say keep Suso.

They can suck a dick

5m plus Morgan and Hughes back on loan

£15m is laughable. Loaning him back, though, would surely be a pretty good idea?

The Mirror/People 'article' is so obviously a plant. When there's nothing but a brief para on the story you can bet your house on the fact that an agent or player has just asked a favour. If there's any real substance there a hack will pack in as much info and quotes as they can. This story is what they used to call 'Doing a [Alan] Nixon'.

ahh, makes sense.

He's good. But we've already got Jordan Rossiter, who will be part of our midfield in a few years time.
Wouldn't necessarily be against signing Hughes but he'd hardly be a priority given the presence of Rossiter and a couple of others.

I don't see how the presence of Rossiter means we shouldnt sign Hughes? While they are both midfielders they dont play in the same position and arent the same type of player. Rossiter sits deep, controls the game and breaks up play while Hughes plays further forward and likes to get forward and create attacks.

Alonso and Gerrard MK II

Considering Morgan couldn't get a game on loan at a league two club why would a championship club want him? And its not like Morgan has been tearing up trees either for us since then. He has looked poor.

I don't care what they want, it'd be what I offer. They can counter it if they want
