Winter transfers

According to The Times, Man City have Guehi on top of their centre back shortlist. Would be a shame if they were able to get him. Have felt quite certain he would still become a Liverpool player but City being interested isnt good news.
Hopefully we'll get him.

It will be a monumental cock up if we don't get him in Jan, and that single transfer has already cost us a title challenge on its own.

yes estevao annoys me, we need one of those. are we maybe handicapped by the lack of multi club?

Possibly, although I think it’s quite easy to sign these really big talents directly. They can’t move until their 18 though.
Chelsea just signed that insanely talented CB from Ecuador aswell. We need to take a few risks talent wise.

We don't gamble. Spreadsheets and data are designed to mitigate risk. For the fees that these players go for there's no world where we'd go for them

Max 10m on an unknown from Brazil. Anything more they won't pay it

I hate it

I think there is a bigger chance we will do that when we have a second club that can be used for loans etc.

Edwards certainly wants to invest in that type of talent

Not sure we really need another club. Surely we can do that with a strong relationship rather than have a controlling interest in other clubs?

That Leicester winger looks very promising. Kind of an Olise, Eze kind of signing.
We would have to give him games though, as he continues to grow as a player.

Glasner's Transfer Policy

Linked with Oscar Mingueza. 26 year old right back. Spanish and plays for Celta. 6’1 and 2 goals and 5 assists so far this season.
Barca youth player and 4 caps for Spain.

Could be a good addition to pair with Bradley and make Frimpong a RW option.

Out of contract so a free transfer next summer.

Honestly, you’re spot on. In modern football, snapping up elite young talent early is one of the smartest ways to get ahead. The age restrictions are there, sure, but if a club has a clear plan and the patience to wait, the payoff can be massive. Chelsea signing that ridiculously talented centre-back from Ecuador is a perfect example — they saw the upside and didn’t hesitate.

At some point, you have to take a few calculated risks with talent. Not every signing will work out, but it only takes one or two to really come good to transform a squad, both on the pitch and financially. Playing it safe all the time just keeps you average. If you want to compete at the top, this kind of thinking is absolutely necessary.

Would be a good squad option, esp. on a free

we shipped out kostas because we didn’t want 3 left backs, you think we’d do it at right back? obviously the 2 right backs we have currently seem to be made of glass so there’s a need but would we consider selling frimpong or bradley?

here’s the knock on effect of slots management, if i’m the dad of a promising kid right now i’m probably pushing him away from liverpool. there are so few chances for youth at this moment

Will have knock on effect on future signings too. He has to improve on how potential players see him. Weirdly don’t remember much from his Feynoord days so maybe he is too new to have enough references from past players.

This has to be sorted
yea and weirdly i think i’d be pushing a kid to city right now, guardiola might be an odd fella but over the last while where they haven’t been as competitive he has been integrating a few kids into the first team. it’s quite a good look for young talents.

arne on the other hand looks like he’d rather harvest their organs as spare parts for senior players.
