Winter transfers

Will have knock on effect on future signings too. He has to improve on how potential players see him. Weirdly don’t remember much from his Feynoord days so maybe he is too new to have enough references from past players.

Agreed.

Theres two parts to this. Playing youth players - absolutely nothing for likes of Rio, Nyoni, Ramsay

Sold some of our best academy talent - Kelleher, Morton, Elliot, McConnell

It’s not the Liverpool way

Rio is 17 and it’s quite natural that minutes will be fewer when the team struggles and you shield them from pressure. That will improve when/if the team improves.
Nyoni has been poor this season. It’s been reported several places that he has struggled to develop.
Ramsay is shit and a perma crock. Played 5 mins in Scotland these last few seasons. Not an Acadamy talent imho.

Kelleher is 27 years old and wanted to leave for several years.
Morton we could maybe have kept but not sure he is good enough.
Elliott can’t even get into the Villa match squad. As if he’s the answer to anything for us.
McConnell is out on loan, not sold. Very highly rated by the staff and that’s why he’s out on a year long loan to get some experience. Has a chance to be in the first team next season.

The above has nothing to do with The Liverpool way, and Slot deserve a lot of stick this season but not this.

Agree in general, but a couple of those are not on him.

Kelleher wanted to play. Signing Mama is the writing on the wall.
McConnell is loaned out I believe.

Morton & Quansah are having better seasons than the players they were understudies for.

Injury crisis years ago mean that Trent got his chance. Now we would prefer to play our best cm at RB rather than give Ramsay minutes.

We would rather play a RB at RW than play an actual winger.

Maybe so, but we’ll never know because they weren’t really given a chance.
I just don't think slot could/wanted to motivate them. He's not a man manager. He's a tactician and he's a standoffish bell. Some players need an arm round them, some players need tough love. Slot gives them neither. The fact Salah (if you believe him) says he doesn't know why slot dropped him speaks fucking volumes.

Slots too busy thinking about the next guetta set in fucking Ibiza than he isn thinking how to integrate Isak to the club ffs

Salah should watch his performances so far.

That could drop the penny.

It's so disappointing. We've gone from THE place for youth to go to develop and get fast tracked, to a club to avoid.

On what basis though? Our starting right back is 22 and from our Acadamy. Our starting left back is 21. Gravy was 22 when he was given a starting role and developed into a WC defensive midfielder. Rio has been in the first team at 17. Leoni was to be given a role in the first team at 18.

If you’re good enough - you’ll play. But given the circumstances our first team have been under these last few months it’s natural that the likes of Rio get limited chances while we figure shit out.

We’ll have no problem attracting talent under Slot or a new manager. All young players say the same thing when they visit our facilities, see the team, opportunities and talk to our coaches.
