Get Torres back for 15 million (edit: if we can sell Carroll for 15 million)?

Yes?

No?

Dunno?

(where is the poll apps?)

Absolutely, categorically, without a doubt, yes.

well buying Torres anyway, im not convinced about selling Carroll just yet.

Nope he's a big cunt twat bellend (delete not applicable). People need to forget abaTorres theres no way in a million years he'd be welcomed back to the club. Plus he's so fucking out of touch with his football it would be a risk signing. The signs where there even at us with regards to his form.

The King & the Kid....

Will you forgive?

Carroll is tied up with the sale of Torres, both have not performed at their new clubs. I would think it will be a good swap without any outlay of money. El Nino deserves anther shot.

My answer is Yes if no cash is involved, not necessary big Andy going to Chelsea.

Carroll is worth maybe 20m.
Do you really think so? I hate to think how much we'd get back for him.

Torres is worth about 10m, Carroll is worth maybe 20m.
Carroll was never worth 20m to start. We'd be lucky to get 10.

Yeah, given his age and reputation and the price similar players have gone for(Keane, Bent, Defoe, Henderson,Milner) I'd say we may get 20m alright. It would definitely be at least 15m anyway. And he's doubtlessly worth more than Torres is.

I'd keep him anyway, I don't see any reason to sell him given how much his price would have dropped and how much potential he has. It just wouldn't make sense to sell him now.

Fucking hell, Y1.

First Henry, now Torres.

Who next ?

Owen ?
Terry ?
Itandje ?

(I'd have Torres back, but that's me....a bit gay).

I know this is off topic but nah he's never that price, the players your comparing him with have consistently proven they are of quality and have either scored or created right throughout there premiership carrers with maybe the exception of henderson. Andy Carroll has had one purple patch and has come no where near replicating that form.

Torres is an intelligent player and he knows how to score and he would score buckets in our system. Don't be blinded by his mistakes, for every bad mistake he made he gave us five moments of absolute brilliance. When he was here he was the best striker I've ever had the pleasure of watching, except maybe Henry, he always has been a confidence and comfort player, if he came here, gained our forgiveness and had Kenny motivating him, he would start banging them in. Anything under 15m he would be a fantastic buy.

Christmas wish list for quick fix in the box strikers... never a Terry not Itandje!

(Glad you like Torres back too, though I am not gay) 😉

hear hear

He's young, has potential and is English. That's at least 10m right there. He's scored at every level for England, that's another couple of million added to his price. He'll make the squad for the Euros, which will raise his profile even more, that's maybe another few million depending on if he plays and scores.

I'm just glad some of you aren't the ones in charge of transfers.

I wish I had your faith, but I agree with Shrek.

Sadly I'd be very surprised if we don't lose a minimum of 20 Million on him

Asbo, It is not a poll because there is no poll apps. It has become a discussion. So it is not stupid any more ok?

15 million max, our Andy is worth now.

Yep i'm glad i'm not in charge them either i'd of spent 36m on carroll, whoever authorised the 35m should be sacked it was a massive mistake paying that amount. I don't get because he's English it adds a premium the last time I looked the England team is not very good. He can't even get into the England squad currently Cappello obviously does not rate him.

I don't know why it does either. But it does.

I think it wasnt an issue of the premium; it was more getting someone in in a panic within 2 days or whatever it was...

Unless of course the Torres transfer had been in the pipeline for a while, in which case it was an even more horrific idea.

But that doesn't make sense either why we paid so much, the lad came with an injury and wasn't expected to be fully fit till next season so it wasn't like he was coming straight into the team. I would of done with kuyt and suarez and waited till the summer to see what was out there. We don't get to spend 35m that often we should of waited until the summer to see what was out there.

Yeah, I think everyone is agreed that we paid too much and that it was a panic buy. That doesn't mean we should sell quickly though when his value is probably at it's lowest.

Whatever, be it King's fault or the Kid's fault or the DoFB fault, just do it when the window opens again!

i'm not totally convinced it was a panic buy, at least not totally. i think - at least it's been said - that he'd already been lined up as a target for the summer. and i still don't think Kenny necessarily deserves much of the blame for it. did FSG really put their trust in the judgement of a temporary appointment, who'd been in the job for about 2 weeks, to the tune of £35m?! seems highly doubtful to me.
