Lambert.. Has to..

Well Done Bradford btw.. Stuff of Dreams..

Lets hope they don't get Chelsea in the final..

Unbelievable, delighted for Bradford and especially their captain Gary Jones who never got a big move to a top team in his younger days and now at 36 will get to lead his team out at Wembley.

They put out Wigan, Arsenal and Villa on this cup run so they have fully earned the adulation they will receive. Unfortunately I think their cup run has, and will contnue to, affect their league form and I'd be surprised if they got promoted this season despite having one of the strongest squads in the division.

People wanted him before BR in the summer.

I feel sorry for the guy. Must be the shittest Villa team in an age.

Gary Jones has really impressed me in this cup run.
Made up for Stephen Darby aswell!

I would have been okay with him coming here in the summer, I'm ashamed to say.

Wouldn't surprise me if he did get sacked.. But it wasn't down to the Bradford results

Well done City take a bow ..

He's changed too much too fast. Too many young guys at once and freezing out bent have been poor decision. Tonight he had the team go too narrow in the second half. They got a lot of joy down the wings in the first half, bbut it was all crosses from deep in the second half.

Villa had the 5th highest wage bill in the league just a couple of years ago and got 3 6th place finishes out of it.
Insane what has happened to that club, but its a warning to a lot of clubs in the Premier league.

He had to change things fast, Lerner pulled the plug on financing them (which is why MON left). He's still a good manager.

IF it wasn't for Suarez form early season form, we would not have been that far off villa.

Villa are trying to do the same as us (sign young upcoming players/get rid of high earners/play youth players) but with worse players.

That said, they do seem to be in a downward spiral.

But....

"Can work with fuck all money
Tactically excellent
Gets the max out of average players
Has played at the highest level
Seems like a thoroughly decent guy"

Heh. Villa's squad are shite, but he's done a largely dreadful job there it has to be said. I still fancy him as a manager, so if they stick with him he could turn it round.

They really are shit especially at the back. Why the fuck did they sell James Collins to West Ham last summer? Not the best centre half by any means but he's a physical presence and an experienced player. Bad move.

To think some with 6th place, 3 seasons in a row under O'Neill wasn't good enough for some Villa fans.

I still think he's a good manager, what he did at norwich was not a fluke, but i've seen them a few times this season and they're very disjointed at times. Suerly a lot of the blame for that rests with the manager.

It might seem undefendable tonight, but I think Villa will do alright if they stick with Lambert in the long term. They might get relegated this season but in four to five years, they will do well.

It is better to be patient with a manager like him than go and appoint someone like Hughes, Dowie, Megson.
