Exasperating. McDermott said exactly what I said, but because you know of another quote from Ablett where he CONFIRMS what McDermott said, rather than the direct quote from McDermott himself, and you can't be arsed to find the original comments (I'm not your damned servant, so don't ask me!), you appear to regard that as proof that I've either lied or dreamt up the exact same point. Which is pretty insulting. And then you have the nerve to claim you aren't acting like a WUM. McDermott's on twitter. I suggest you contact him and ask him what he said. But stop the nonsense about wanting a normal conversation because you quite blatantly don't.

I looked for the quote but it doesn't exist. Which is why you haven't been able to find it yourself and post it here.

I have spotted a theme here do, you previously called me a WUM another time I called you up on your nonsense. Normal people discuss their point of view when while you just try and play the WUM card. I wont make that mistake again. Enjoy your evening.

Ward; Sama, Jones, Paez, Flanagan; Rossiter, Roddan, Brannagan; McLaughlin, Dunn; Morgan

Subs: Fulton, Sokolik, Bijev, Lussey, Peterson.

Interesting move. I thik McLaughlin is smart enough to play anywhere down the right, and at a push he can cover at LB as well.

Full marks to the coaching team. They've worked really hard on improving Morgan's awareness and versatility. That was a great goal.

I wouldn't say we've deserved the 2nd goal on this halves performance but still it's the scoreline that counts

FT: MC 0 LFC 2

Not a consistently entertaining match by any means (thanks in part to a ref and set of assistants who were even worse than usual), but a good competitive game and we deserved the win. The team played very solidly and cohesively even though several players were deployed out of position. Morgan's sensational goal from half-way was the clear highlight but there were some encouraging performances all over the pitch, with Rossiter once again looking like a star in the making in midfield and McLaughlin, pushed up on the right, causing enough danger to prompt the mancs into pretty blatantly trying to do what they could to make him limp off prematurely. Another good bit of coaching from Inglethorpe, who is moving these players around, coaxing them out of their comfort zones and gradually bringing them on both as individual prospects and as part of a team.

Ward - pretty solid, with fewer flaps than usual. I can't say I've been a great fan of his in the past but, credit where it's due, he's looked better this season.
Sama - captain for the night, and worked very hard at RB, where he's played before on the odd occasion, and tonight at least looked more comfortable than at CB. He's been prone to the odd howler in the past, certainly last season, but he's a strong lad who still deserves a bit of time to develop. He did really very well tonight, defending well but also attacking with surprising verve and set up the second goal. A belated but very welcome sign of progress.
Jones: another strong, confident and imposing performance at CB. Reminiscent of Sami at times in his reading of the game and his ability to bring the ball out of danger.
Paez: Very good performance from the player recently signed from Real Madrid - a strong, positive and confident CB, he defended well and also bombed out of defence on the odd occasion and (after one or two little errors in the first half) distributed the ball well. Encouraging.
Maguire: another young Kirkby academy player. Left-sided with the proverbial good engine, he had a promising game.
Rossiter: a precocious talent who always shows great vision and maturity in his play. No matter how much older, bigger and stronger his opponents, he never seems overawed or at all ruffled. He's going to be a gem.
Roddan: another busy, bright and progressive performance, with plenty of strong and decisive challenges. Although he's young he's a confident lad who never stops shouting at teammates, Carra-style.
Brannagan: Probably the most under-appreciated player so far this year. He's had some very good games this season, and he's developing fairly rapidly. Some good, neat and simple touches tonight, winning the ball and starting new attacks, and was rewarded with a good goal for our second.
McLaughlin: Probably THE player who is knocking on the door of the first XI. it took him a while to get his bearings in an unfamiliar forward position but once he started using his pace and power he enjoyed himself and really caused some problems down the right. Unfortunately he got a really nasty kick on the ankle from a City player (not the first cynical foul he'd endured) after 65 mins, but he was able to run it off and showed his toughness by sprinting down to the byline at the first chance he got.
Dunn: he's looked a bit jaded in recent games - overdid it in pre-season? - but he's still very lively and always fighting at the front. Injured in the second half tonight after another wholehearted 60 minutes.
Morgan: scored a phenomenal goal, but also showed, at last, that he's gradually putting to good effect all of last season's run outs in unfamiliar positions. They want him to run and close defenders down in a Rush-like style, and he's trying his best. He's much more aware now than the old head-down goal poacher, and is thus much more effective as a team player.

Bijev - came on as sub in the second half, but didn't make much impact. Neat and tidy, but not too noticeable.

Full marks to the coaching team. They've worked really hard on improving Morgan's awareness and versatility. That was a great goal.
Two years ago I had zero hope for the lad, as he seemed very limited albeit a good striker at reserver/youth level.
How do you think he'll do now? Seems to have improved. Could he realistically compete for a place in the squad over the next year?
