[article]Maurizio Sarri is officially the new Coach of Napoli on what appears to be a one-year contract.

"Calcio Napoli announce that the role of Coach for the 2015-16 sporting season has gone to Maurizio Sarri."

Negotiations and meetings have been going on for almost a week, as the ex-Empoli boss emerged as the front-runner to replace Rafa Benitez.

There was another encounter in Rome this evening between Sarri and President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

It had been reported the deal was a two-year contract, but the announcement suggests there is only a one-season agreement with an option for a second.

[article]Miralen Sulejmani has signed a 3-year deal with Swiss Super League side BSC Young Boys.

The 26 year old found himself down in the pecking order behind Salvio and Ola John. His injury in the Europa League final against Sevilla didn't do him justice and the skills he possessed to bring a game to life.

Benfica thanked Sulejmani for his professionalism and wished him the best on his new stage of his career.

Young Boys finished runners up in the 2014/15 season behind Basel and will enter the third qualifying round of Champions League.

The Swiss team is currently managed by Ulrich Forte.[/article]

CHT9K5KWgAEeWF8.jpg

[article=http://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/derby-county-sign-england-international-goalkeeper-scott-carson-2491896.aspx]Derby County have today completed the signing of England international goalkeeper Scott Carson.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper has put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract, with the option of a further year, and joins in an undisclosed deal from Wigan Athletic.

Carson, who has four caps to his name for his country at full international level, arrives to strengthen the goalkeeping options available to Head Coach Paul Clement.

The Whitehaven-born custodian brings a wealth of experience with him to the iPro Stadium, having made over 300 professional appearances at club level.

Speaking about the signing, Clement said: “Competition for places across the squad is important and Scott’s arrival certainly brings that to the goalkeeping department.

“We have two good goalkeepers already in Lee Grant and Kelle Roos and bringing Scott in will certainly raise the battle for the place between the posts.”

He added: “Scott is an experienced goalkeeper who has played at the highest level for a number of years and we’re looking forward to working with him.”

Carson began his career at Leeds United and progressed through their youth set-up to make his first-team bow in January 2004, as a substitute, before making his full debut in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United a month later.

Ahead of the expiry of his contract at Leeds towards the end of the 2004/05 season, Carson joined Liverpool in January 2005 and he went on to make five appearances at Anfield in the closing weeks of the campaign.

In 2005/06, Carson made four appearances for Liverpool – in the Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup - and gained further first-team experience during a loan spell at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, appearing nine times.

He was an unused substitute as Liverpool memorably came back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with AC Milan in the 2005 Champions League Final, before lifting the trophy following a penalty shoot-out in Instanbul – in addition to also being an unused substitute in the 2005 European Super Cup Final against CSKA Moscow in August 2005.

Carson spent the entire 2006/07 season on loan at Charlton Athletic – then in the Premier League – and was awarded their Supporters’ Club Player of the Season Award following an impressive campaign between the posts that saw him appear in all but two matches.

Another loan spell followed in 2007/08, again in the Premier League, at Aston Villa. He made 36 appearances in all competitions before returning to Anfield at the end of the season.

In July 2008, Carson joined West Bromwich Albion for a fee of £3.25 million and made 39 appearances during the 2008/09 season, although the Baggies were relegated from the Premier League.

He remained at the Hawthorns as Albion returned to the top flight at the first time of asking in 2009/10 as runners-up, appearing on 47 occasions in all competitions.

Back in the top flight, 32 appearances followed in 2010/11 before he moved abroad in the next chapter of his career. In July 2011, Carson completed a move to Turkish Super Lig club Bursaspor for a fee of £2 million.

Bursaspor finished eighth in 2011/12 and runners-up in the Turkish Cup, while Carson was an ever-present between the posts. In 2012/13 Bursaspor secured a fourth place finish and to book a place in the Europa League qualifiers, with Carson appearing 29 times out of a possible 34 matches.

It was back to England for Carson in 2013 as he joined Wigan Athletic following their relegation from the Premier League. He appeared 25 times in all competitions – including the Europa League – as Wigan qualified for the Play-Off Semi-Finals after finishing fifth in the table. The side were also runners-up in the Community Shield as a result of their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at the beginning of the campaign.

He racked up more appearances in 2014/15, 34 in total, but was unable to help Wigan avoid relegation from the Championship.

On the international stage, Carson represented England at Under 18 and Under 21 level on a regular basis before making his full international debut in 2007, having also claimed two caps for England’s B side. After being part of the England squad for the 2006 World Cup, he made his international bow against Austria in 2007 and kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory.

He made three further appearances with his last outing coming against Sweden in 2011.[/article]

André Breitenreiter - Schalke (Head Coach)

[article=http://www.schalke04.de/en/news/150612_breitenreiter/page/1637--86-86-.html]“We are very happy to have found the right head coach for FC Schalke 04 in the form of André Breitenreiter,” Horst Heldt explained. After the sporting director led discussions with several candidates that met the requirements, the SC Paderborn 07 manager rapidly emerged as a favourite. “After Roberto Di Matteo’s departure, I emphasised what I expect from a new coach: Attractive and passionate attacking football and a team spirit that excites our own fans,” noted Heldt.

“André Breitenreiter comprehensively impressed everyone that he is the right man for our objectives. He is a young and courageous coach, who isn’t worried about making uncomfortable decisions. At SC Paderborn, he proved that he could further develop young players and understands how to discipline, create and improve a team,” said Heldt. Despite most experts tipping SC Paderborn as clear favourites to go down this time last season, they were in the running until the very last Bundesliga matchday. “Paderborn achieved promotion magnificently and André Breitenreiter has worked very hard and successfully with extremely limited resources,” the sporting director added. “The way and manner in which his team pushed the limits and played football was impressive. We have to do that here too.”

Heldt highlighted the 41-year-old's expertise: “During talks, he gave an accurate analysis of the current sporting state of affairs and finally presented a concept of how he can lead the team to success and present football from the perspective that we all wish to see at Schalke. Therefore it has to be clear to everyone that this isn’t simply a short-term thing. He will get the necessary time for it.”

André Breitenreiter, born 2nd October 1973 in Langenhagen, began his playing career for the youth academy of Borussia Hannover in 1977, before moving to Hannoverschen SC in 1984 and Hannover 96’s youth department in 1986. He returned to the first team of the then second-division team in 1991, winning the DFB Cup in 1992. After eight years with the Lower Saxony club, Breitenreiter plied his trade for Hamburger SV between 1994 and 1997, then VfL Wolfsburg in 1999 and Unterhaching in 2002. The midfielder made 144 Bundesliga appearances (28 goals) and 79 second-tier outings (12 goals) during the course of his career. He also had spells at SC Langenhagen (2002), KSV Hessen Kassel (2002-2003), Holstein Kiel (2003-2007), BV Cloppenburg (2007-2009) and TSV Havelse (2009-2010).

Breitenreiter featured for Germany at U16, U18 and U20 level, and made six appearances for the U21 team (2 goals).

The 41-year-old began his managerial career for the youth team of TuS Altwarmbüchen and went on to coach TSV Havelse from 2011. He gained his football license from the DFB Sporting School in March 2013, finishing third in his class. A few weeks later, he took the reins at SC Paderborn 07 and guided to the second-tier club to promotion to the Bundesliga in 2014.[/article]

Bojinov became the second Bulgarian player in the current squad after defender Ivan Bandalovski had joined the team in the beginning of the year. The Bulgarian striker was officially presented and posed with the jersey of his new team, daily Dnevnik reports.

Partizan is the reigning football champion of Serbia, having won the domestic SuperLiga and the team will compete in the qualification round of the Champions League. Bojinov moved to Partizan as a free agent after his contract with Italian Serie B side Ternana expired at the end of the season.

Partizan had initially expressed interest towards Bojinov three years ago, but then the Bulgarian opted for Lecce. Bojinov expressed his gratitude towards Partizan for providing him with the opportunity to play for the best club in Serbia and could not hold his emotions from his transfer to this great club.

The Bulgarian apologised for his poor Serbian language, but promised that he will improve it within a month. Bojinov admitted that before taking his decision he had consulted with fellow Bulgarian Ivan Ivanov, who played for Partizan for two years before moving to Basel in 2013.

Bojinov started his career in Lecce and has successively played for Fiorentina, Juventus, Manchester City, Parma, Sporting, Verona, Vicenza and Levski Sofia.[/article]

[article]MARK WARBURTON has today been confirmed as the manager of Rangers Football Club.

The 52 year-old becomes the first Englishman to manage the club, and he will bring with him former Rangers captain David Weir as his assistant, with both men signing on a three year deal.

He has spent the last two seasons at London side Brentford, taking them from League One to the Championship in his first season, and then to fifth place and the play-offs in his second season in England’s second tier.

The Bees were defeated by Middlesbrough inthe play-offs, and he departed Griffin Park seeking a new challenge.

Before his two year stint as a manager, Mark held the positions of first team coach and sporting director at Brentford having previously worked with a number of different youth teams at Watford.

He was also instrumental in the creation of the NextGen pan-European under-19 cup competition, where the top European sides entered their teams prior to the UEFA Youth League being inaugurated.

As a player, Mark was a youth under Ibrox icon Jock Wallace at Leicester City in the late 1970s, before playing non-league football with Enfield and Boreham Wood.

Between ending his playing career and taking up a coaching role, he worked as a foreign exchange trader.

Assistant David Weir meanwhile returns to Ibrox three and a half years after leaving.

At Rangers, he won three league titles two Scottish Cups and three League Cups, with two, one and two coming as captain respectively.

Initially signed on a short-term deal when Walter Smith returned to Rangers in January 2007, Weir ended up staying for five years, and he played a key role in Gers incredible run to the UEFA Cup Final in 2008.

He left Rangers in January 2012 for Everton, where he was a player/coach of the Toffee’s reserve side before getting his first break in management at Sheffield United in the summer of 2013.

That was to end in disappointment for him however, and he left Brammall Lane in October of that year, but two months later he was back in football as he joined Warburton at Brentford.

The Rangers Board would like to express its gratitude to Stuart McCall and Kenny Black for their contribution to the Club in very difficult circumstances.
They will always be welcomed back to Ibrox at any time. We wish them success in their futures.[/article]

[article]Jilted Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic has landed another job – with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

Jokanovic, 46, led the Hornets to the Premier League in April, but his short-term contract was not renewed because Watford refused to meet his demands for a £1.2 million pay rise.

Although he was linked with Sunderland and Newcastle, Jokanovic missed out on both jobs and he was replaced as head coach at Vicarage Road earlier this month by Quique Sanchez Flores.

Maccabi owner Mitch Goldhar said: “Slavisa was the stand-out candidate, especially after his recent success and the obvious interest from other clubs.”

Prior to Watford, Jokanovic had managerial roles at Partizan Belgrade, Levski Sofia and Hercules.[/article]
