When I say he had offered little it's in respect to what he brought in 09 and what he brought in 11 and forward. I think the decline is far greater than the average English person would be prepared to admit. In many ways he has hardly been more than a passenger in countless games the past 5 years. With the odd glimpse of pure class of course.

For me it will always be about the impact and few players had more than Gerrard the first 10 years of his career. But the decline has been underrated to an almost laughable degree in England.

He's basically in there because he has excellent cardiovascular endurance.

Markovic looking like a footballer, telling lovren to come close to him, showing some fucking balls. He's hugely important to us. His promise is exactly what we need.
 
Markovic has all the qualities to be a great player. We knew that from his Partizan and Benfica days. Still adapting but if we give him time he'll be ace. And prove the people that gave up after 2 games wrong.

Agreed, though to be fair he looked overawed for many of his early appearances. He comes into our sexy hot mess last season and it's a breeze for him.

He's nowhere near good enough technically to be played all round the park. People seem to think high work ethic = stick them anywhere. It's nonsense.
 
Markovic is the only long hair we have, right? One of you reserve squad nuts, do we have any Pantene prospects coming up the ranks?
