Sunderland are buying a lot of experience in. I can't see them pulling up any trees, but I don't think they'll go down either.

Brown and O'Shea will be on massive wages, and probably be utter shite.

I think you're wrong.

Decent signings for Sunderland

I think you'll find two very ordinary players that have looked much better than they are in Utds set up.

Nope, you're wrong.

They are two very experienced players accustomed to winning.

They'll add great experience to the squad whilst contributing a fair bit of ability .

Agree with that.

I remember when O' Shea nutmegged Insua :(
He also infamously nutmegged a certain Luis Figo who was one of Europe's finest players at the time.

Apart from O'Shea, who I think will do a decent job for them, I'm fairly unimpressed with Sunderland's signings so far. If Wickham is the talent they think he is then they could be comfortably mid-table but I'm not convinced he is.

I think O'Shea is a decent player, but Brown is injured most of the time isn't he?

Stoke have signed Woodgate on pay as you play. I wonder if this is instead of Dann.
Wonder if their joint bid for Jerome and Dann is still being considered, already rejected or held up by their owner's court case. Didn't know Stoke are reputable for their medical team too.

JONATHAN WOODGATE is putting his faith in the reputation of Stoke City's medical team as he seeks a fresh start in English football . . . after manager Tony Pulis singled that out as a key factor in the decision to sign the England defender.

Pulis is confident that City's excellent backroom team can manage the 31-year-old's defender's fitness well enough to get the best out of a player who has experienced more than his fair share of injury troubles over the past couple of seasons.

John Carew was still injured 50 % of the time he spent at Stoke though, so they're not miracle workers.

But still, if they can get Woodgate going they have a very good player.

Agreed. It's a real shame how Woodgate's career has developed - or, more to the point, failed to develop. If Stoke *can* sort his injuries out enough for him to play a at least a decent chunk of the season, this could be a very canny move by them.

Chelsea will buy a midfielder now I reckon, as Essien is out for 6 months....
We cuould offer then Joe Cole and Aqua.

They've been linked with Parker today.

He'd probably represent a reasonable short-term signing, however they probably should take a long-term view of this - Essien seems pretty much fucked and needs replacing.

True, but that's what Spurs thought 4 years ago.

Hope Parker sticks it to them and doesn't return.
