Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

It's Awesome that both suso and stifling are playing for the U18s .

So much potential at such a young age

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

For those of us that can make it, it's £4 for adults and £1 for the children.

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

I'm planning to go and take my 3 year old son to his first game at Anfield. OK it's only U18s but at least it's a taster and I just can't justify £40 to take him and he gets bored after 30 minutes

Ngoo still not fit?

Isn't he on loan?

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

I'd love to be going to this. Honestly, I reckon in 5 years people will be saying about Liverpool superstars that have made us Champs,"I saw them twat utd when they were kids la".

Not sure. He hasn't performed well enough to start IMO, since his injury that is.
If they decide to play a 4-4-2 I think Adorjan will be the one to start alongside Morgan.

Yeah, me & my mates thought that with the FA youth cup winning team containing Owen et al, but surprisingly few of them *really* made it.

This is a better bunch than that (Owen excepted). Anyone and everyone who has been part of LFC reckons this is the best bunch of lads we've ever had. Ever.

Have a great game, Sean..

Thought about this one, then decided I'd save for April and May (hopefully) :(

I think everyone is getting a bit carried away with these lads , I mean don't get me wrong there's alot of potential there and I hope lots of them go on to be superstars but there is such a long way to go , who knows what will happen . I was reading a bit of Carragher's book the other day and he mentions how he fully expected the like of Nemeth and Pacheco to go on and be first team stars . Well that's not really worked out and it just shows that the final step from youth team star to first team starter is massive.

The pressure on youth team players today has got to be higher than ever before . With LFCtv , the internet etc these lads are in the spotlight and judged well before they really should be . In saying all that , it is great to see them play and do well , there's no real "superstar" element to them and they just play for the love of it .

What ? I'm pretty sure he's still injured so hasn't had the chance to perform badly . And when he's fit he'll start , I mean he's in the England U19s and plays reserve team football already , he's a very good player and at that age his physical attributes cause all sorts of problems ...hopefully he goes on to be a good Crouch .

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

Couldn't you say the same about players like Lennon, Walcott and Bale? They were between 17-18 years old when they became known among the top clubs.

I agree that there is some hype about the Academy/U18 team but like I mentioned in another thread, the current batch contain about 10 youth internationals including the captain of the U19 England team.
The previous youth teams weren't anywhere near that.

I must also add that this game against Man U isn't a make or break for them. It isn't a test of potential, they're already dominating the Academy League.
Man of them, Wisdom, Suso, Robinson, Flanagan and Coady are also playing for the reservs so they've already climbed the ladder.

I though I saw him in the highlights against Crewe. Come to think of it could have been Sama.

Redzep, only time will tell. I've followed a few messiahs in my time, but this time it's different. I believe. Before I just hoped.

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

I am taking my 5 year old, it will be his second game. He is well excited.

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

I'm dragging my mates to this.

Another sleepless night for me it seems =/

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

Can you just rock up to Anfield and get tickets?

How much are they?

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

If we get *one* player on Owen's level from this group, and the rest just disappear, I think that would have to qualify as a great result for the youth set-up. As RedZep says, the odds are always against the kids making it, particularly at a club as big as Liverpool, no matter how much potential they seem to have at 16/17.

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

Can't wait for the game. They're showing it live on the pay channel.

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

Confirmed line up:

Belford, Flanaghan, Sama, Wisdom, Smith, Suso, Coady, Roddan, Sterling, Adorjan, Morgan.

As I mentioned earlier Jack Robinson, our "youngest player" record holder is out with an injury.
His replacement is Brad Smith, an Australian born left fullback who was recently selected to play for the England U17s.

Michael Ngoo has returned to fitness but isn't ready to start. Morgan is instead accompanied by Adorjan upfront.

Formation 4-2-3-1

Belford

Flanagan Sama Wisdom Smith

Coady Roddan

Sterling Adorjan Suso

Morgan

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

Very strong line up. Would have liked to see even a half full stadium to cheer the lads on.

Re: Don't forget! Sunday 12PM

Subs: McGiveron, Mukendi, Stephens, Silva, Ngoo.
