I cant believe anyone in their right mind would think Lucas was/is better than Anderson.
They are almost totally incomparable so far apart is the chasm in which they played last season.
Lucas = neat passing vs Anderson = dynamism, pace, aggression, skill, work ethic, ability etc etc.

Lucas may develop into a fine player, the signs are pretty good, but so far, Anderson has looked miles better.

I agree. He has all the potential to be as good as Gerrard, Anderson.
 
Lucas on last years form still has alot to prove and Alonso's passing ability would be sorely missed even if his form has been patchy in the last two years. Everyone knows that we need some serious quality on the right which will not only work hard but also score goals. I'd prefer for Rafa to spend money on this area rather than chase someone like Keane.

Lucas needs to improve his form but he still managed the same number of assists in the league as Carrick/Anderson/Hargreaves PUT TOGETHER in a lot less appearences and that £55m worth of talent managed 4 league goals between them, while Lucas is yet to score i am sure he is doing fine

Lucas got 5 assists in the league when I last looked on ESPN which doesn't have his data for last season at the moment (strange), Carrick/Hargreaves/Anderson managed 5 together and 4 goals in the league according to ESPN

We need two quality strikers to play upfront in most games in the Premiership. One striker isn't the way forward although by end of last season Gerrard played a terrific role behind Torres. We also should accept that Torres also do fucking need a fucking rest. We can't be playing him 50-60 games a season from the start.
