9-0 versus united in a season. arguably playing better passing football than we did in he 80's. Top of the league, second only to a team that's engaging in billion dollar doping. You can't ask for more.

I tell my son, enjoy it, because it took 30 years to come along. Well managed in every department - sporting, health, scouting, data, coaching, preparation.... and the team has great unity. And then we sign players. Remember it used to take a season to "bed in"... now these players are ready to go in a matter of weeks - Joto, Diaz come to mind..

Top of the table for a day... second only to a financial billionaires machine
Semis of UEFA Champions league - with ease...
Final of FA Cup...knocking out city,,,
Carabao winners over Chelsea..

===========

I remember the 90's - stuttering to keep up with Man United
I remember the 00's - we became a great cup team
I remember if we got Barca, Roma, Milan, Real - we went in thinking every game was 50-50.
We all remember Roy
We remember Paul Konchesky and Joe Cole
We remember Hicks and Gillette
I remember Christian Purslow and Martin whatshisname. October 2010.
We remember when Kenny left - worrapity
i remember Brendan's record in Europe.
I remember signing great players like :"Benteke"
I remember thinking big players might not come here
I remember when Alberto RIERA was a flair signing for us
I remember being disappointed that Masher, Torres, Suarez and Raheem wanting better
I remember no youth coming through
I remember no European games.
I remember getting forth was BRILLIANT
I remember 5-1 to Fecking STOKE. - 6-1 to some ;)
I remember Dumbledore's Army's expectations..

And now..
Winning every CL game
Great Owners (yes, they are)
Players dying to STAY
Being one of Europe's best
Expecting to win games
Total preparedness
Expecting signings to be great
Seeing youth players coming through
Lots of unity and a lack of politics
Total respect from our opponents.
Terrific rotation...
Great squad...
No more being dependent on just two players (like Torres and Gerrard)...

Mad isn't it?

I wasn't nervous all day, I answered calls during the game, there was no heart in mouth moments. The only question was how many were we going to beat them by.

It was like playing a pub team.

I guess it's the right thread to post this picture.

All the cringe/over the top stuff is OK here, lads! No one will make fun of you (at least for now).

Wow!

Only comment I have - you cannot write such a fantastic post without explicitly mentioning one specific name.
You know who I'm referring to.

I stand by my stance on Thiago that i've had since last seasons injury crisis - we should rest him in the cups and keep him for league games. Only exceptions being meeting a rival in the run or for finals where we need that final push. He can't play every game, but we can keep his rhythm by limiting his appearances on our terms and not on his body's terms.

Bit late now that we are at the sharp end - although I would still consider him missing the one of the CL legs (ideally the first, as we get a home boost and may need him in the second if the result hangs in the balance late on) to ensure he's fresh for the run of games against Newcastle, Spurs, Villa either side of those CL semis.

You want to rest a player for a CL semifinal? I imagine the player will be fuming if he was.

Thiago is amazing. But it felt iffy around him for a while. It Was frustrating
im so glad all appears good with him now !

Edit ;long may it continue !

Seriously though, look at the precise ball passing skill of those lads. you can't park that bus against us.

I watched the 2006 finals. We didn't have 3 passes strung together in a row. Exaggerating of coursse, but the movement and passing now of these players. WOW
