Tbf they're literally filling the box with men. Every time sturridge or Origi get the ball anywhere near the area they have at least three bodies around them, sometimes more.

Talent gap or not, that's a tall order.
That's why Coutinho is getting that extra bit of space in the hole.
Our midfield hasn't helped either.
No composure on the ball as of yet.

Well yeah, but it's working fairly well. We may be one goal up, but had they not been flooding the box with men & pressing so well in their final third we'd be a few up no doubt.

They can't keep this up for 90 minutes though, not with counter attacking as well, they'll either drop back completely or end up drifting out looking for an equaliser.

We'll score more second half.

Sloppy first half overall, giving Plymouth and their annoying fan more hope by the minute. Hoe we pick up the tempo in the second half.

We've been average.

Fortunate to be 1 up...Ejaria has been very good.

Origi very poor, as has Moreno... Lucas is not a CB

The two wide lads needs to drop off more, they're getting too advanced and too compact when we have the ball in midfield, so it makes it impossible with all those Plymouth players in the box, the attackers need to drop deeper to get the ball and have players running off them to move the opposition around and create space. At the minute, the front three are finding themselves completely static up top just waiting for the perfect ball. Double up on them wide and play on the overlap, and get the ball infront of their box too and take shots to make something happen.

Yeah, I'm hoping klopp has the front two hang back a bit & have the wing men & full backs run the lines.

That'll force their defenders to hang back a bit trying to play that very well held offside trap & balls across the box so often cause problems.

If there's no way through passing it back centrally will enable the likes of Countinho to try from distance.

Quick half time review
Karius - solid
TAA - fantastic bit of defending to keep it @ 1-0.
Moreno - stop taking set pieces.
Lucas - happy for the lad ... he deserves that.
Woodburn - seems a tad bit slow?
Origi & studge - no real service
Coutinho - playing well

All tactical adjustments aside, a bit more quality on the break and the chances will come. We've been pretty poor so far.

Lucas scores. He really loves the FA cup, as Havant and Waterlooville know all too well!

Another tantalising glimpse of the attacking midfield dynamo that we signed, but Benitez ruined.

Hope we get a few more in this half, shut the yokels up

Lucas continuing his good form at CB this season both in the cups and the league.

Great to see him score was unlucky not to score against Watford earlier this season

Easier said than done Mark. Frankly though, as soon as Plymouth have themselves set defensively on the edge of the box then they're almost impossible to open up.

We'll get goals here - ironically - on the counter attack more than anything, or if we nick it off them when they're trying to play it around at the back.

Sturridge not really making a claim for his inclusion in the league.

2nd cup start and he's been shite again

I like what Woodburn is doing positionally, but he should run with the ball and force someone to make a decision before releasing.
