Or is it the fact that it's only four games in and impossible to take any meaningful stats from it. Who knows? It's a mystery.
That's plausible as well, but there is a huge difference between this season and the last, which suggests there could be something else up.

Two of the top goal scorers in the league last season are not playing....Suarez, Bale. That might have something to do with it. And RVP is not getting much service.

[article=http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/pitchside-europe/tiki-taka-masters-barcelona-lose-possession-battle-first-111604032.html]Barcelona sauntered to what appeared to be a regulation 4-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night, but below the surface, something remarkable was occurring.

For the first time in 317 competitive games - 317! - Barcelona finished the game having had less possession than their opponents. Yes, that's 317.

Ever since a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in May 2008, the master practitioners of tiki-taka had greedily hogged the ball like the best kid in the school playground.

This remarkable spell included the entire reigns of former coaches Pep Guardiola - who did so much to refine Barcelona's possession-based strategy - and Tito Vilanova, as the Madrid defeat over five years ago came under Dutchman Frank Rijkaard.

In the intervening games they had come up against quality opposition at home and abroad but, until last night, had never seen their possession stat dip below 50%.[/article]

Manu- Not conceded a penalty in 61 PL games, since v Blackburn in Dec 2011. Only side that did not concede a penalty in PL last season.

That's a fucking shocker. No way refs were intimidated by Ferguson, eh? To say so would make you seem like some conspiracy theorist loon.

Roma
[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/rudi-garcias-roma-good-even-2326619#ixzz2gTIDz3YU ]They have only conceded one goal this season. One crumby goal.

The best defence in Serie A means they can finally enjoy the fact they also boast the best attack. 17 goals scored, 9 different goalscorers and in a variety of ways. They have scored four from counter-attacks, six from open play, four from set pieces, two from penalties and one even came by way of an own goal. Unpredictable to the death.
