Looks a player, doesn't he? I highly recommend everyone to watch the video above – there were a few very clever passes there that I missed during the game, like the floated pass towards Sturrdige from inside the Plymouth box that was headed over by a defender. Based on what I've seen from him so far (in this game and others), he already seems like one of the sharpest and most positive passers we have in the team, at any age level. It's good to know Clyne has a quality understudy and we won't need to spend to shore up this position, but one thing to keep in mind about TAA is that he is not just a right-back – his skill-set translates just as well to central midfield and I think that's where he played the majority of his games in the reserves in previous seasons(@gkmacca or anyone else who watches U23 regularly, please correct me if I'm wrong).
His range of passing would actually make him a candidate for Henderson's position at the base of the midfield as well – now that's something a bit more exciting than a back-up right-back! Or he might eventually settle as the right-sided player in the midfield triangle, which would neatly combine his midfield and wing-play skills, but will require more offensive contribution. Either way, it's been some time since a local lad came up through the ranks with such promise, all the best to him.
